It was a heart wrenching week to watch, yet very heartwarming at the same
time. The
Christmas episode was wonderful and wonderfully sad at the same
time.
The week starts with Bridget needing to make possibly one of the biggest
decisions of her life, a selfless one. While at first she did not want to
be a mom to her stepson/nephew when her half-sister Felicia passed away,
feeling that baby Dominick would throw a monkey wrench into her entire
plans for the future, when she wakes up the next morning and sees Nick
feeding the baby, who he obviously loves a lot, she decides to do it.
While it was weird to see such an 180 degree change in one person, one
moment feeling 100% against it, and the next breath 100% for it, I was
happy that they did not mess this character up. Bridget is really a
wonderful and forgiving human being (see: forgiving her mother for her
betrayals? Bridget is a saint in my book) and it would have completely out
of character for her to say no.
Felicia of course was beside herself with happiness, thanking Bridget
endlessly for doing this for her son. Fifi had just had visitors before
Bridget arrived... her parents. She had to tell them that her cancer was
back, and that it had spread and that she had only a few months to live.
She also told them that she was not going to do the chemo since it would
not prolong her life significantly, and it would make her sick for the
entire little precious time she had left. Stephanie did not want to accept
it and went looking for a Doctor who might know of some experimental
treatment, while Eric sat by her daughter, asking her forgiveness for not
being there for her when she was growing up. Felicia had
only one request for her parents: for her last Christmas to be as
wonderful and as memorable as she remembers when she was a kid.
Back at the mansion, Stephanie tries to start decorating, but she is
simply devastated knowing that this is going to be her daughter's last
Christmas and simply sits in tears after having accidentally broken a few
ornaments for the tree. Thankfully the always optimistic and cheerful Eric
arrives to help her out. I must say, it was very nice for Eric to treat
Stephanie with compassion and decency. Lately he has been nothing but
hateful and vengeful toward his long time wife (ex). I do hope this
continues for a while at least. Eric & Steph make good TV when they
get along.
Brooke also pays Stephanie a visit to offer her sympathy, but the
matriarch does not buy her phony concern. Brooke could tell her visit
wasn't truly helping so she decides to leave. Before she left, however,
she left a page she copied from Kahil Gibran's book, "The
Prophet" for Stephanie to read in the hope it would help a little.
Stephanie does read it and it brings tears to her eyes:
"Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughter of life's longing for itself.
They came through you, but not from you.
And though they are in you, yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love, but not your thoughts.
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies, but not their souls.
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow
Which you cannot visit - not even in your dreams."
Finally is Christmas day... and everyone gathers sipping Eric's awful
eggnog. A minister shows up to christen Felicia’s
baby, Eric and Jackie, a grandparent from each side, are the godparents.
Both Massimo and Jackie are very moved to see their new grandson. Taylor
is upset at Ridge’s inability to be present for the day, he is
supposedly stuck in a snow storm in Paris. When Hector arrives, Stephanie
insists that he stay since Caitlin was with her mother in New York.
Finally someone says something! But... what about Jimmy? He is all alone
on Christmas day? When Bridget arrives with Nick, Brooke and the kids, she
asks Thorne to record the entire day on
video, so that when Dominick is older, he
will be able to see his first Christmas with his mother. As usual I am
extremely impressed with Susan Flannery. Her heartfelt emotions about a
mother about to lose a child from cancer were completely right on. I smell
another Emmy for Susan! You go girl!
In the heart wrenching finale, Felicia recalls all that everyone
has done for her and is extremely grateful and happy that her son will
have such loving people in his life. Here's her touching
words:
"Who are all these beautiful people? How little I really know about
the characters in the story of my life. Where does all the time go? Did I
waste it? Did it waste me? They'll miss me for a little while when I'm
gone and then life will go on. It's not so much the dying part. It's just
not knowing how the story turns out. It's the missing that. You know, they
say you can choose your friends but not your family. But you do. Every
morning you put them on like a warm shirt. Loving them, hating them, it
doesn't matter. I chose them long ago. Before I knew anything. Before I
was anything. And now I choose you. Thank you for being my story - the
only one I've ever had. Thank you for being my heart. When I go to sleep,
I'll be listening to you."
Finally... I must say the shows seems to have gotten better since Felicia
came back. Although I'm not happy that she's dying, at least Eric's stupid scheme is over,
Nick doesn't seem to be pining away for Brooke anymore, and arrogant Ridge
is MIA. It even looks like something's going to happen between Taylor and Hector.
Yummy! Things are looking up!
What a week! While it was full of 'bad news' all around, it was also
heartwarming. I
admit I shed a few tears here and there... Finally a storyline that does
not involve Brooke and her antics!! As a matter of fact, Brooke was rarely
seen this week, and for one, loved it. Ridge is MIA as well, so I am in
heaven!! Let's hope it lasts a little while!
The week starts with Thorne and Darla catching Sally in a lie. She was not
going on a cruise, for pete's sakes, she was going to a retirement home!
Thorne and Darla would have none of that so they had her move in with
them, something that the powers that be did not show us... too bad. It
would have been cool.
But the main storyline of the week had nothing to do with Eric trying to
get the company back (and Stephanie not falling for it... GO STEPH!!!),
nor how incredible it is that Dante ran into Felicia at the Insomnia after
'spotting' her in Nice (small world? How about Amber seeing Ridge in
Venice? Small world indeed in soaps), but all to do with Felicia, her
health and little Dominick. I don't know how anyone feels, but Jack Wagner
is an absolute natural with kids. I loved him with little 'Hope', but I
love him even more
with his little namesake child. The little looks, the way he holds him...
wow. I might start liking this character again if Brooke stays out of the
picture. After Nick gets home he 'tries' to tell Bridget about his son,
but she tells him to give her one night of 'peace' and he obliges. He,
however, can't keep the news that he has a son with Felicia from Bridget
long and tells her the next day. At first Bridget is upset, irate even,
but after seeing the baby, she calms down. Bridget and Felicia have a nice
talk as Bridget tries to understand how this baby came about and why Nick
was none the wiser. Bridget, however, cannot possibly even remotely be mad
at Felicia once they get to the hospital and they find out that Felicia's
cancer is back and... with a vengeance. The cancer is terminal. Without
chemo, Felicia has 2-3 months to live tops, while with chemo maybe a
little longer, but Felicia cannot imagine living the last few months of
her life without hair, and puking her guts out, just to die anyway. She
wants 'quality' time with her son, the little time she has left. These
were very touching scenes and it was evident at the end that Felicia was
thinking of having her sister raising little Dominick with his 'soon-to-be
little sister' and daddy after she passed away. Will Bridget be up to it?
I am not sure she has much of a choice. If Felicia does die (I cannot
believe they are killing this character off... aarghh... I really love
Lesli Kay and I am praying for a miracle!!), since Nick is the baby's
biological father, it's
only right that Nick would raise his son. Hopefully Bridget will see
that's the right thing to do.
In the meantime, Eric wants to take Stephanie out to dinner and feeds her
all sorts of lies about how he hates Brooke now or whatever, all part of
his 'scheme' to try to get the company back. Stephanie does not buy it,
and tells him that if he wants to get into her good graces, he needs to
start paying attention to the children, to be a father. Clueless Eric has
no idea what child of his has problems, so is dumbfounded when Stephanie
tells him that Felicia's cancer may have resurfaced and that she might die
and that he has a grandson. He is stunned and concerned about both Bridget
and Felicia when he finds out about little Dominick and vows to be a
father to Felicia and Bridget both, even though he is afraid he might not
be able to be much help at all. The embrace at the end of the episode at
the end of the show on Friday between Stephanie and Eric I hope signals
that Eric will drop this futile attempt to get Forrester Creations 'back'
with his manipulations. It's all about family with Stephanie, and if he is
just going to be a caring human being with his children, chances are,
Stephanie will reward him in the end.
All that happened this week happened in the course of a day. I find that
amusing sometimes, and considering that by week-end Eric was in Genoa City
at Michael & Lauren's wedding, I wonder how long Eric
will really be gone... a few hours maybe? We'll see I guess!
The week starts with Felicia arriving at what looks like a baby shower
thrown by Eric & Brooke for Bridget and Nick, and while she tries to
keep her composure, she loses it in the end and runs out of the room.
While on her way out she feels ill and gets some pills out of her purse.
Is the cancer back? What are those gigantic pills? Neither of these
questions are answered, as at that moment Stephanie enters her office and
asks Felicia why she would keep her baby a secret from her and everyone.
Just a little earlier Stephanie had entered the guest house that Felicia
asked her to stay away from because the phone was not working and spotted
the baby. Stephanie assumes the baby is adopted, but Felicia tells her
it's hers. When Felicia tells her mother that the baby's name is Dominick,
she realizes that the baby is Nick's. Incredulous, Stephanie wonders how
Felicia could have had a baby since she was on chemo, and Felicia tells
her it was a miracle. Stephanie is very happy for her daughter, but feels
that Nick ought to know he's a father. Felicia thinks differently and now
wants to go back to France immediately.
Upset thinking that her daughter might be making a huge mistake, Stephanie
calls Nick and tells him to come over immediately. She then tells him in
front of Felicia
that he has a son. Nick is upset at first, telling Felicia how she could
possibly keep this secret from him, but when he sees his 'boy' (and what
wonderful, moving scenes those were!) he melts. He's happy he knows and
tells Stephanie so. Against Felicia's wishes, he plans to tell Bridget
about his namesake's son that very night. Felicia does not want to cause
problems for Bridget and is upset. Stephanie then has a heart-to-hear
conversation with her daughter, telling her how she wants to rebuild their
relationship, how she realizes she has made mistakes and in the middle of
this Felicia collapses in her arms.
In the meantime, at
Forrester Creations, Eric has a new 'plan' to take back the company. He
decides that lying is the best course of action. Eric thinks that he can
trick Stephanie into believing in him again, and if he can make everyone
believe that he hates Brooke, Stephanie would give him FC back. So... the
lying begins. First he stages a fight between him and Brooke in front of
Taylor and Thorne, and then later once again when he sees that Taylor is
standing outside his door. Thorne and Taylor are dumfounded by what they
hear. They can't believe that Eric, who had been Brooke's biggest
supporter, is now dragging her through the mud while singing Stephanie's
praises. It makes not sense. However, when Dante,
Darla, Thorne and Taylor all witness Eric and Brooke arguing over the new designs at
Forrester, they are completely fooled. Taylor then calls
Stephanie to tell her what's happening. She gets her voice mail... more
next week on this I suppose!
Over at Spectra, it's a sad, sad day for Sally. She invites all her staff,
including Thomas, Thorne and Sally, and tells everyone that she's
retiring, gives everyone severance checks and announces that she's going
to live it up and go on a world cruise. However she is almost caught in a
lie when a nurse from the 'assistance living' (or something of sort) calls
and tells her that they are coming to pick her up. Sally tells everyone
that was the captain of the ship calling, telling her that a limo was
coming to pick her up and scoots everyone out the door. However, when
Darla comes back and catches her in a wheelchair, she smells something
fishy...
As per Brooke this week... all I gotta say is, the flashbacks, montages
and all... simply have to GO!! Even when she is trying to be selfless she
is selfish, self absorbed and throwing herself her own personal pity
party. Here's three little words: "Get over it!!" If not
for yourself, then do us viewers a favor!!
There was no column last week-with only three shows and nothing much going
on, I
felt I could not write enough for a whole column, but... this week... boy
do I have a lot to say!!
Last week started
with Eric letting Brooke 'free' to go, free to leave him. Since we know
that Eric thinks with his pants, that same evening he was knocking on
Jackie's... ahem... door. Since Jackie has no self-respect she took him
back immediately and was even flattered. Yew! I must tell you, that's why
Brooke and Jackie get along, they are cut from the same mold.
In the meantime, more interesting things are happening at Forrester
Creations... Eric, Brooke & Ridge are joining forces and forcing the
hand of the law trying to take over FC from Stephanie. Stephanie's trust
is iron clad, but a lot of little technicalities could jeopardize the
company if Stephanie vs. EBR is brought to court. Stephanie agrees to let
them in, but relegates her cheating ex-husband, her traitor son and the
one everyone sleeps with in the basement.
Bridget, Dante & Nick are having it out in the beach house, Dante
wants Bridget to sign the divorce papers, and Nick declares his love for
her. Things are left in hiatus and the next morning, at the doctor's
appointment, Bridget and Nick learn that Bridget has an incompetent
cervix, which
could make her lose the baby once the baby gets heavier. Oh yes... they
also find out the baby is a 'girl'. Seeing all the love and support that
Nick is giving her, Bridget takes Nick back. Trouble, however, is looming
into the horizon for poor Bridget. Seems like she can never have a man for
herself. Brooke and Eric are all happy for the good news of Nick and
Bridget being back together and about the baby. What I wonder now is...
whose men will Brooke go after next? We know she can't stay without a man
for very long. Also... where is Eric living nowadays? She let Bridget have
the beach house and surely he has moved out of Brooke's house... hmmm...
What I don't understand is how Bridget has changed her tune... it makes no
sense to me. Over and over again over the years she said how her mother's
scandals ruined her childhood, yet now she tells her mother that she hoped
she could bring her daughter at least one half of the joy and love Brooke
had shown her. Did I miss something? Either that, or Bridget should start
putting on a teddy and getting stuck between floors in an elevator with
another woman's husband! That should bring her daughter much joy.
Felicia is back in town and with a big secret she is keeping from
everyone. She
is visiting from France where she has been for the past year or so because
Taylor asked her to come to consider a job offer at FC. Interestingly
enough she does not say 'yes' or 'no' to her, but later she visits her
mother so she could tell her in person she is rejecting the offer.
Stephanie knows her daughter well and questions her on why she would come
all the way from France to turn down the job offer? She thinks there is
more to it. In fact, Felicia had gone to see Nick prior to seeing her
mother and was devastated when Nick told her he married and was expecting
a baby with her half-sister. When Stephanie finds out that Felicia needed
a place to stay for the night she offers her the guest house, and Felicia
accepted-as long as her mother was going to stay 50 feet away from it.
Later, Felicia and her nanny, Renee', settle into the guest house and
Felicia goes over to the crib and tells baby "Dominick" (so we
know that this baby is Nick's for sure) that 'mommy' (so we know that's
her child) is here. Well... little
Dominick and Bridget's baby should be only 'cousins' but they will be
siblings too... ahh... the wonder of soaps!! I must say... this recast of
Felicia is pure genius. Her character is exactly as it was portrayed by
Colleen Dion, I love it, love it, love it!! Not only that, she does not
seem to fond of Brooke, so kudos to the much needed return of Felicia!!
I honestly wasn't too excited about this week's storylines. BORING BORING
BORING. Why must the writers bore us with Brooke and Eric's pathetic
marriage and Ridge being the most awful son and husband on
the face of the earth?
The week starts with Ridge arriving home finding Taylor in bed. Taylor
confesses that Hector had just left, but surprisingly it's Ridge that
apologizes to Taylor for not being there. He then calls Hector and thanks
him for being there for Taylor when he couldn't. This new side of a 'nice'
Ridge does not last long, however, the next day he tells Brooke that she
and him should start their own fashion house (Destiny Designs) and they
march into Stephanie's office with threats, demands and insults. Ridge
knows only too well how much his mother despises Brooke, yet he has no
qualms in dangling Brooke in front of her nose and taking her side instead
of his mother's. Stephanie points out to him that if he starts this new
fashion house with Brooke, two people will not be too happy about it,
namely Taylor and Eric. What I don't get is how everyone was up in arms
and mad as hell at Stephanie when she faked her heart attack, yet Eric and
his 45 year lie... gets away scott free. It's disgusting. Nobody is mad at
him? Hello? It makes no sense to me.
What makes even LESS sense to me is how Massimo wants Stephanie to just
'hand over' the company to Ridge. What a disappointment. I understand that
Ridge is his son, but
can't he understand why Stephanie would be reluctant to do that, seeing
what power Brooke has over him? At least Thorne is there for Stephanie.
She needs at least one child that cares and loves her and does not cater
to Brooke.
As Stephanie predicted, Eric arrives in Ridge's office catching him while
he hugs Brooke. No matter how she almost 'fainted' or whatever (how
convenient), Eric is not happy about it. I personally don't know why Eric is being so desperate for the likes of Brooke when he could have Jackie.
Brooke then goes on Nick's boat (wasn't she supposed to say away from
Nick? Hmmm...) and during the heated conversation, he convinces her to end
her marriage to Eric, since she does not love Eric, and Eric wants a full
fledge wife, not a roommate. Nick, however, seems to be committed to
Bridget, he goes over to the beach house and after having a little chat
with Dante, he goes into Bridget's room, wakes her up, and starts talking
to the baby. Here's something weird.. A week ago, Bridget was not even
'showing'. Now she's got a belly that's hard to miss... common writers!!
This all in the span of a day? Give me a break. I
did like the outfit she was wearing on Friday however, wow... wish I had
had the money when I was pregnant to look that classy. Oh well...
The week ends with Dante asking for Stephanie's help in getting Bridget to
sign the divorce papers. Bridget seems confused to say the least. One
moment she defends Nick, the next she is reluctant to stay with him. Say
what you want, but Stephanie is right. Why would Bridget want to be
'second choice' when she could have that beefcake... Dante... who loves
her to pieces? I know love is strange but... common. Here's what I find
profoundly sad about the show: we have three really deserving, intelligent, wonderful women (Taylor, Stephanie and Bridget) who are each in love with three stupid, fickle, undeserving men (Ridge, Eric and Nick) who can't get their mind off a sleazy, manipulative tart (Brooke). Please, please let these women hook up with the deserving men that love them. (Dante, Hector and Massimo). It's just so frustrating seeing these women get the shaft because their
husbands/fiancées/lovers are obsessed with Brooke. I would love to see these women all end up with the more deserving men for once and see the other three losers and Brooke get the shaft.
This was an
interesting week, as it seems like Stephanie has finally the upper hand on
things and at least 'some' of her family's support. I find it interesting
that Ridge, Brooke & Eric think that Stephanie has gone
mad and id going to drive the company into the ground by hiring Taylor and
Thorne, when not so long ago, Brooke put Deacon (a bartender) in charge of
Marketing, gave Amber (a waitress) a chance to be a designer, and put her
young, inexperienced son, in charge of something else at FC (forgot what
that was, vice-president?) and Brooke herself only experience was being a
chemist before she was CEO. If Brooke thinks that is okay, then Taylor can
be the new face of Forrester (since she is such a classy lady) and
Stephanie, who helped Eric build FC from the ground up, can be the new
CEO. But... I am getting ahead of myself...
The week starts with
Stephanie kicking Brooke and Eric out of 'her' office as she starts
packing Eric's stuff. She later has a confrontation with an irate Brooke,
who thinks that Stephanie has gone mad and is going to run FC into the
ground. The conversation that had me upset, however, was the one that
Stephanie had with Ridge. He seems so concerned that her mother is going
to ruin FC, yet, he can't even support his wife in believing in the new
direction the company is taking. Ridge showed no support for his mother
nor for his wife. Even Thomas raked his father over the coils for that
one.
Ridge is such a loser. He can't make a decision if it's worth his life,
and when he does it's the wrong one! How can he sit there and support his
ex-wife who is now married to his father and who took 51% of the company
away from HIS family, and support his daddy dearest, who kept the real
ownership of the company a secret from the entire family for 45+ years? He
stated that he did not 'agree', but he's supporting it by not supporting
his mother and wife.
Later, at the press
conference, Taylor wins the press over and celebrates with a bit too much
champagne with Hector, who, unlike Ridge, was there to support her. Giving
Hector a ride home with the limo, the champagne gets them all wet and they
end up at Taylor's house to clean up, not knowing that Ridge is on his way
back from Big Bear.
Before the Press
Conference, while Taylor was still in her office, Nick arrives at her
office for a session, determined to rid Brooke from his life and focus on
his family and future with Bridget. Bridget, however, wants nothing to do
with her husband and wants to divorce him, something that Dante is only
too happy to hear. If you ask me, Bridget is CRAZY to love Nick and not go
for Dante. Common Bridget! You've got some young stud who is cleaning and
cooking for you and telling you how much in love he is with you but you
rather sulk about Nick? I would love for her to forget about Nick, but
chances are she won't. Sooner or later, she'll get back with Nick, I can
just feel it.
Later,
Bridget meets with her mother, father and Nick, and tells them to stop
playing games and simply be together. Nick and Brooke seem very uncomfortable
and announces to Bridget that they cannot be together because they love
her more than they love each other. Hmmm... Of course Eric is sitting
there not caring, unlike his
daughter, he's never minded for leftovers.
Best
line of the week belongs to Stephanie:
Rick: You kneed him in the groin! Stephanie: if he'd (Eric) made one
single decision with his brain, I would've slapped him in the head!
Other
than that, nothing more happened this week. I have to keep reminding
myself is only a half an hour show, and without commercials, maybe 20. 20
times 5 is only 100 minutes, 20 minutes shy of 2 hours!
I
loved this week! Queen Stephanie finally has her throne! Once again this
story is so interesting to me that I watched every episode twice, Susan
Flannery is such a fabulous actress, it makes me want more, more more! I
actually counted down the minutes until 12:30PM, watched B&B with fascination,
excitement, and glee. I have not had this level of excitement and
fascination about the show in a VERY long time!! If Susan Flannery does
not win an EMMY next year I will be very surprised!!
The week starts with
Katherine Chancellor (from Y&R) dropping by Stephanie's mansion, and
there they chat about the TRUST. At first Katherine does not even remember
it, then she recalls a few sketchy details about the meeting with
Stephanie's dad, and she basically states that she never touched the Trust
and it stands as is.
Later Stephanie confronts Eric in his office about him lying to her for
their entire married life. The level of betrayal is deep, and Eric does
not feel any remorse at all. That only infuriates Stephanie, who fires
Eric and goes home. She spends all night planning
the future of Forrester Creations.
Eric calls his lawyers and is hoping for some sort of loophole (since he's
so famous for that-seeing
how he divorced Stephanie using one) but learns that Stephanie is indeed
the sole owner of the company, and that Eric and Jonathan could go to jail
for fraud.
Eric calls Brooke to get to work because there is some sort of emergency,
and, along with Rick (who came back from Europe) and Ridge, band together
to try to stop Stephanie. Nice try jailboy!!
They should be kissing her feet, not making her mad!! Stephanie enlists
the aide of Taylor, who seems to be the only person, aside Massimo, upset
at Eric's betrayal. Unrealistically enough, Rick, Brooke & even Ridge,
who SHOULD be mad at Eric for lying to THEM all these
years, stand behind him for some unknown reason. I could understand Rick
and Brooke on some level, but Ridge? He was standing opposite of his
mother, father AND wife for crying out loud! What a loser. His priorities
and loyalties need to shift, and soon.
I feel this is a true redemption for Stephanie. Brooke and Eric have
completely humiliated her time and time again and they are finally getting
what they deserve. Brooke is there all upset that Stephanie is 'stealing'
her company from her and HER children, but isn't that what Brooke did to
Stephanie? Besides, if anyone was stealing anything from anyone, is Eric
from Stephanie, everyone should be upset at him for betraying every single
member of his family!
What
else happened this week? The other stories were so minimal, they were
simply time-fillers.
There was a cute
ultrasound scene with Bridget and Dante, Dante helps Bridget move into the
beach house and cooks for her. She's a fool for not going after him if you
ask me!!
There were also a
few scenes with Thorne, Darla & the Spectra gang. Thorne was upset
that he wasted his entire inheritance on Thomas' new line and thinks he's
finished. Darla gives him love and reassurance.
There were also some
really boring scenes with Nick kidnapping Brooke after finding out that
she did not sleep with Eric. They said the same thing over and over again,
and finally Nick decided to let Brooke 'go' so to speak. Whatever. Like
that is over? I don't think so. I hear through the grapevine that Felicia
will be coming back with baby in tow (yes, Nick's baby) so my guess is
that the writers were ending the Brooke/Nick thing to concentrate on the
Felicia/Nick/Bridget thing. Right? We'll see!!
This
was probably one of the BEST weeks of the show that I've seen in years. I
watched each episode twice and couldn't believe my eyes and ears. First we
see Taylor being the wonderful human being that she is and Stephanie
finding out she has the upper hand finally? I couldn't be happier. Yeah
Bradley Bell! You made me a happy girl. Taylor and Stephanie are the reigning women of class
on this show hands down.
The week starts with
Stephanie announcing to the family that she lost everything, her company,
her husband and her family (to Brooke-but she does not say that) and sadly
in a very moving speech, announces that she's going to sell the house and
move to Boca Raton, Florida, where his father had his estate. She plans to
spend time with friends and forget about the problems in LA that plague
her family, since nobody wants her advice. Everyone is stunned and upset,
except for Eric, who is standing in the sideline with a stupid smirk on
his face. Ridge and Thorne and their wives are upset and say their
goodbyes, vowing to visit.
The following day
it's the big 'fashion show' duel between Thomas and Ridge and Eric
announces the new campaign called 'reunited' with a silhuette of Eric and
Brooke's faces. Thorne is livid that they are sabotaging Spectra and
Thomas this way and the press gives ample success to the new teen line by
FC and very little applause for Thomas. Ridge and FC are the clear
winners. Thomas feels horrible since his loss means Gaby's deportation. It
was at this moment that Agent Dunn arrives with papers for Gaby to sign
and Taylor reveals she was able to get the government to grant Gaby official status, and have her college scholarship restored.
Gaby can stay in U.S. and go to college. Gaby hold up her part of the
bargain and tells Thomas that if they are meant to be, they will find each
other again. Taylor apologized to Gaby about the harsh words they
exchanged and they hug. Ahh... this is the Taylor I know and love. Welcome
back!!
While the fashion
show is going on, Stephanie gets into Eric's office and calls Massimo to
witness her getting into the safe to get her stocks of FC out to give to
the children. After trying a few combinations, she is saddened to find out
that the combination that Eric has had all these years was his and
Brooke's first marriage. While looking through the papers, Massimo is
intrigued by a sealed envelope, opens it and with amazement, he reveals to
Stephanie that it is a trust that her father set up for her and she's the
only real owner and beneficiary of Forrester Creations. After calling his
lawyer and doing other research it is confirmed that Stephanie is the sole
owner of FC and that Katherine
Chancellor is the trustee. Stephanie cannot believe it and tries to
understand why her father did this for her without her knowing. She
cannot contain herself when Eric waltzes in his office and gloats that
Stephanie does not own FC, that it's his and Brooke's now and to leave for
Florida ASAP. She is righteously upset knowing he kept the truth from her
their entire married life and how he effectively 'stole' her inheritance
and a lifetime of work.
Truth be told, I hate how
Stephanie has been treated like a villain for having completely natural feelings of hate and disgust for the woman who slept with & married her husband and
sons and took half of her family's company because of a fabric de-wrinkler
she created. Would you want to have over for dinner someone like that? Stephanie raised five of
Eric's children, and really had a hand in raising & preserving his youngest daughter when
her trashy mother had an affair with her husband. Stephanie was more protective of Bridget than Eric ever was.
Stephanie haters state that FC would be nothing without Eric, but Eric is nothing without Stephanie, so he can just take his new bride that will not sleep with him and create his own company-that is, if he has any money left once Stephanie kicks him to the curb. Since Thorne is supposedly 'broke' she can hire him and if Ridge goes with Eric (although I doubt he will) we know that Felicia is coming back into the canvas so she can still have her children working for her. Heck, she can even have Thomas part-time. So what if Brooke takes that Belief with her when she leaves? I don't think anyone cares anymore at this point, and surely Stephanie will let her take it just to get rid of her. I sense another Emmy winning
for our Susan!
It's
really about time. Maybe the new B&B writer decided that it would be
more believable if Stephanie's children would take their mother's side
other than the one of a woman who's been married to every Forrester male.
It made the soap more believable... but, I digress.
The week starts when
Nick finds out that Brooke married Eric. He cannot believe it and her
pleas that she did this for her daughter left him quite hurt. After a talk
with Stephanie, he heads down to the 'honeymoon' beach house and there he
tells Brooke to stop lying to herself and to Bridget but she won't budge.
She rather stay in a marriage she does not believe in, then be with Nick,
even though Bridget now knows the truth and has left Nick. It makes no
sense if you ask me, and I truly think that Brooke has finally completely
lost it. All this drama the past 20 years has gone to her head and she is
in need of some serious therapy. Poor Bridget and Stephanie for being the
victims of Brooke and Eric's crazy ideas of what good parents are. What
it's not believable is how Eric has treated Stephanie, getting that
quickie divorce. How can a man, who was married to Stephanie and claimed
to love and respect her for 45+
years, all of a sudden treat her like that? It's simply not
realistic. What's even worse is the fate of poor little Hope. She rarely
sees her bio dad (he's not even mentioned...) then she thinks Nick is her
dad, then Ridge, now she is God-knows where while her mother marries her
grandpa! GAG! Brooke is trying to 'fix' one daughter's problem by screwing
up her other child. Mother of the year? I think not.
I never thought I
would feel sorry for Jackie, but I did when Eric tells her that he married
Brooke out of the blue. After all, Eric and Jackie had been quite cozy the
past few weeks, and Eric didn't really seem to care about her feelings,
probably because this old horny toad was concentrating on banging Brooke.
Disgusting, really.
When Ridge finds out
that Brooke married Eric, he cannot believe it and runs to Brooke trying
to understand what happened. When he does return home to Taylor he
finally tells her that he's through with Brooke and that he wants to
protect his son from all of this drama. This
made me believe he might go for custody... hmmm. After all, I don't think
Ridge wants RJ to grow up thinking that grandpa is dad! Gross. Besides,
Brooke has proven over and over again to be quite an unstable mother (how
many men was she married to or was seriously involved with since Rick
& Bridget were born? I lost count). Little RJ would definitely be
better off with Ridge & Taylor. There is no question.
The great thing
about this week, as I alluded in my first paragraph, is that all the
Forrester siblings present, Thorne and Darla, Kristen, Ridge and even
Massimo, all agreed and felt bad for Stephanie and were concerned about
her over the recent turn of events. They understand that Brooke drove
Stephanie over the edge the first time she married Eric, but now this is
just too much for her to handle. Thankfully Stephanie is also realizing
she truly needs help and Taylor vows to help her through this.
Finally!!
A week to enjoy! Stephanie's revelation to Bridget about her husband and
mother's declaration of love for each other, that both culprits were
trying to keep secret for their own sake, was a breath of fresh air. Of
course Stephanie tried to get Nick to tell Bridget the truth, but he
wouldn't, so she had to take matters into her own hands. To those that
think Stephanie only did this to be vindictive, I give you that, but that
does not steer from the fact that Bridget deserved to know the truth.
Plain and simple.
Bridget... finally
having her head out of the sand, reacted beautifully at her mother and
husband's betrayal and stood her ground with both of them with class and
dignity. Nick and her mother made a fool out of her. You gotta give credit
to this girl to know when she's second best and refusing to be second
best. Brooke never minded being second best all her life with Ridge.
It's just
incomprehensible that other people, like Eric and Jackie, kept this a big
secret from Bridget, but we saw Jackie's true colors when she told Nicky
to go be with Brooke and declare his love for her. Jackie didn't want to
be the 'bad' guy, but sure is happy to reap the rewards. Interestingly
enough, Jackie will have a nice revelation and may even start hating
Brooke once she finds out she 'snatched' Eric from her pretty little
fingers. I can't wait to see the catfights already. There is no way she's
going to be happy about this turn of events, especially since she seemed
to be so smug about it to Stephanie. My prediction is that she will step
down from being the president of Brooke's fan club in a second flat.
Now... about this
marriage between Brooke and Eric. I think this is the stupidest thing I
have ever seen. Brooke is stating that she did this for... what? A new,
fresh start? Hope and RJ (wherever they are) have different dads, so that
cannot work. And how nice of RJ to grow up with mommy married to his
grandpa! Yuk! Did they claim they did this to convince her that Nick is
not after Brooke or vice versa? Are they going to play this charade for
the next 18 years until their 'grandbaby' grows up? Please. Bridget is
going to see right through this. Brooke and Eric are two desperate, sick
human beings. And
let's wait and see what Nick has to say when he finds out! I don't think
he will be happy at all.
Speaking of which...
I cannot wait to see the scenes when Stephanie confronts Eric about the
'divorce'. You-know-what will hit the fan, and I cannot wait to see those
scenes!! I hope Stephanie will take him down and take as much as she can
from him and never forgive him... after all, what he's done and doing, is
completely unforgivable.
On another side of
town, Taylor and Ridge are with the marriage counselor. Smug Ridge
admitted that he 'desired' Brooke and that Taylor just had to 'get used to
it'. However, when the tables were turned, and Taylor admitted that she
had chemistry with Hector and that he just had to 'get used to it', his
tune changed considerably! How nice of him though to hug and support his
mother later on! I give him kudos for that!
I
am so disappointed with the writing on the show lately. Disgusted, really.
I am so tired of Stephanie being vilified by her family for wanting
Bridget to know the 'truth'!! Is every character in the show blind? Brooke
is not sacrificing anything, she just does not want to be 'hated' by her
daughter once again. The only person Brooke cares
about is herself. But.. I digress.
The week begins with
Bridget finding out that Brooke and Nick met in Big Bear. Bridget must be
really naive or something, because once again, ignores what Stephanie is
telling her and just believes Nick and her mother.
Bridget take your head out of the sand girl!! One would think she knows by
now that her mother's "word" means nothing! She just can't help
herself and she knows it. It's absolutely absurd the faith that Bridget
has in her mother. I believe Bridget is so caught up in the fantasy of having a family and the baby,
that she isn't seeing what's in front of her eyes.
There was a time when Jackie and Eric would also tell Bridget about her
mother and Nick, but for some unknown reason, they both changed their
tune. Even Massimo in the past could not stand Brooke. Now
it's a Brooke love-fest. Everyone defends this tramp heroine for what
reason I do not understand.
Stephanie is right... it's only a matter of time until Brooke sleeps with
Nick, and Massimo's suggestion to MOVE was a good one. How come is it
acceptable for everyone to lie to Bridget, but God forbid Stephanie lie
about anything? Double standards if you ask me, and this show is fastly
become full of hypocrite characters.
In the meantime, Nick is constantly making love to Bridget, and
we all know-because it's quite evident-that he's doing so while he's
thinking about her mother. SICK SICK SICK.
Eric later reveals to Stephanie what happened
between Brooke and Nick on the boat the night that he thought Bridget had
had an abortion, when they confessed their undying love, hoping that she
would see the sacrifice Brooke and Nick were making. Yeah... right.
Stephanie knows that Bridget deserves to know the truth, so she can make
an informed decision about her life, but nobody thinks that's a good idea?
Everyone believes that Bridget should stay married to someone that has the hots
for her mother!? It's ridiculous if you ask me.
What's even worse is Eric blabbing to Stephanie that Brooke was better in
bed! Can I spit? And that comment that Brooke is a better mother? I just had to laugh.
Eric must be the STUPIDEST character on daytime TV. The birth of all of Brooke's children
was involved in a scandal!!! Rick was conceived through an affair with Eric when he was still married to
Stephanie; Bridget didn't know who was her daddy, Hope is her son-in-law's
child, and he was still married to her daughter! RJ--Brooke didn't know which
brother was the daddy-- Ridge or Nick! And she is a good mother? She knows how to love, she sure does!!!
Give me a break. Eric is so dense and blind. How can he just let his
daughter live a lie like that? Eric was never that high on my list anyway,
and he just keeps sinking. Stephanie is right
in calling him a rotting old goat! Horny too if I might add.
Stephanie is a smart woman and the only one who seems to
have any sense, someone better listen to her soon, and it's my sincere
hope that it is Stephanie who has the last words, and I can't wait
to hear them.
I truly, truly
suffered through this week. In some ways I think I wasted 2.5 hours of my
life I will never get back. For those that missed this week... you're
lucky.
Eric and Jackie continue with their tat-a-tat with boring conversation and
a few kisses thrown in for good measure. If you ask me, these two deserve
each other. They are really boring.
Then we see Ridge having a conversation with Brooke about Taylor. It was
at least interesting to see Brooke show him the door and not fall for his
charm. This is a side of Brooke I did not see coming. Then again, he's no
longer her soul mate, right? No reason for her to show him her new
lingerie. Later though she showed that she is just a dumb broad by
answering Ridge's phone and telling 'whomever' was on the other line
(wrongly assuming it was Ridge) that she loved him. Hello Brooke? Who in
the world answers someone else's phone and does not even look on the
caller ID or at least listens in on who has called? This was all for
drama, of course. Taylor
was the caller and she got so upset she ended up on a lip-lock with
Hector. She later tells Hector that their kiss was a mistake.
But the main cause of suffering for me was yet to come. Nick is obsessing
over Brooke and vice versa. Over and over again we see Nick having visions
of a siren Brooke telling him to come to her. Brooke is on her bed
sulking. It was simply pathetic. And then... the coincidence... they both
go to Big Bear to "clear their heads", but not to the cabin but
to some park near the cabin and they meet accidentally? Give me a break.
Of course Stephanie was at the cabin and sees Brooke and Nick caressing
each other and holding each other... we know well that Stephanie is the
only person with some sense who thinks Bridget should know the truth, and
she will once again become the scapegoat for it... mark my words. It's
character assassination at its best. But Stephanie has nothing to lose at
this point anyway, does she? Nobody is talking to her. Ridge did just now,
and he will not care about this, he has bigger fish to fry. No loss. At least
Bridget can know the kind of mother she has. After the whole Deacon fiasco, when Stephanie kept Brooke and Deacon's secret, I think she learnt her lesson. Bridget was just as angry at Stephanie for keeping the truth from her, than she was with her mother and husband for doing the deed.
As I stated before,
I really think the coma Taylor was under really did a number on her...
this is not the same Taylor I knew and loved. How else can we explain her
treatment of Gaby? While as a mother I can surely understand how she must
feel, the pre-coma Taylor knew that you catch more bees with honey.
Post-coma Taylor is clueless. She simply must be nasty to Gaby, telling
her that she married her son for money and that she will never be good
enough for Thomas. Later Ridge tells Taylor he's ready for marriage
counseling, a realization he came about after his talk with his mother. Of
course he does not reveal this to Taylor. Stephanie will never be given
credit for her good deeds, only chastised for exposing Brooke's affairs
and lies. Blah.
This
week started with Ridge proposing to Thomas a 'showdown' of Spectra Vs.
Forrester Creations, which is really Thomas Vs. Ridge to decide the fate
of Gaby. If Thomas wins, the family will accept Gaby. However, if Ridge
wins, Thomas will annul his marriage and come home. To be honest, I can't
believe Thomas could put Gaby's future in danger like this, seeing how
much he loves her. There is no way he can win. He just had his first
fashion show, and while it was successful, his father has a lot more
experience. I guess anything can happen. Taylor, however, was not at all
happy about this, as she is not willing to accept Gaby no matter what,
while Ridge is. That's what is driving me crazy lately. Nobody is acting
like themselves. Since when Taylor is so ununderstanding and mean? What
did Gaby do to her? Didn't they all know this gal for years? Don't they
all understand that she is alone in the world and has nobody to go to if
she was deported? Heck, she does not even know the language. Taylor was
the only person to ever support Amber and we could always count on her
heart to guide her. That coma really did a number on her... I am not
really sure I can say I really like this new Taylor. It's character
assassination if you ask me. I
must admit I really love her scenes with Hector however. I wonder when
they will say "something" about Samantha for crying out loud!
It's like they made her 'disappear' without an explanation. Blah. As I
stated before, we need our Queen Stephanie to interfere in this one. She
loves Gaby and wouldn't want to be deported because of a technicality,
would she?
In the meantime we
must suffer through Brooke's fantasies and tears that
her "destiny" has to change so she can sacrifice for Bridget. Brooke is
always the victim, isn't she? We all know that this secret of hers will come
out thanks to Stephanie and I can't wait. The show is so much more
riveting when Stephanie puts her two cents in. I don't see Bridget carrying this baby to
term though. Poor Bridget marries Nick not knowing the truth, and Eric...
Eric thinks Brooke is some sort of saint for "sacrificing" her
destiny for their daughter? It's just disgusting if you ask me. These
people call themselves parents? Poor Bridget indeed. At least it seems as
if Jackie is now nice to her. I wonder how long that will last?
By the end of the
week, Ridge goes to see Brooke and tells her he needs her. That
made no sense whatsoever. Need her for what
exactly? Brooke told Ridge to take a hike when he couldn't make a
decision, and now she thinks Ridge was never her destiny, but we all know
how destiny and words really mean nothing when they come out of Brooke's
mouth. Ridge needs to leave Brooke alone if you ask me. Even I can see
that he's always treated her like second best and hurt her greatly and
enough is enough. Everyone should leave Brooke alone as far as I am
concerned. Brooke needs to be alone and with no storyline for a little
while. Give us a break writers!! I know, however, that they won't. Dante
is on the horizon and for sure there will be some hanky panky going on
with him. It's sad to see yet another man in love with Bridget that is
ALSO hot for her mother. What a waste.
Yes I know... no commentary last week. It was only three days and I
was so sickened with the storylines I really did not feel like sitting
down to write anything. It's like the good characters are being
assassinated and there is no happy couple on the show except... Thomas and
Gaby? But I digress...
Last week started with Nick confessing to Brooke how much he loved
her and that he wanted to be with her rather than with her daughter, his pregnant fiancée' that he tried to marry three
times already and claimed to love unconditionally. Sickening. What
happened to the 'Nick Payne' macho stand-up man we all met when he first
came on the show a couple of years ago? What happened to his great spirit
and strength of character? He's gone. He's Brooke's puppy dog now, as they
all become. Even Dante, which I hoped would no way be attracted to Brooke
since he was so in love with Bridget, supposedly falls for her. It's like
there is no justice on the show. Brooke changes soul mates as she changes
shoes and everyone reveres at her feet, while the 'good and decent' women
on the show, you know... the ones that only love one man and are devoted
to them, Taylor, Stephanie, and even poor Bridget, get dragged through the
mud, they are cheated on, yelled at and trashed. It makes no sense to me
and the show is getting tiring. Shows like this should have the decency of
upholding a moral standard, and by glamorizing a tramp heroine like Brooke
it does the opposite. It's simply a bad influence to young women. Blah. I
won't say more otherwise I might puke.
On the other side of town,
Thomas and Gaby want to make love, and they do, but a young and, may I
say, stupid Phoebe (no doubt because of Brooke's influence)
confronts Thomas after she finds a condom wrapper in the hallway. She
could not cares less about Gaby, and neither does Taylor, which surprised
me as much as it surprised Thomas himself. This is the girl that they've
known all their life and this is how she gets treated? Gaby is not to
blame for the split of Taylor and Ridge, but as we know, young teens are
selfish to the extreme, so she telltales to her mother what's happening
and Taylor calls agent Dunn to get Gaby deported. Character assassination
to the extreme. The
Taylor I've come to know and love in the past decade would never do such a
thing. What is happening here? Thankfully Gaby’s lawyer comes to her
rescue and she is set free as Taylor stews with anger. Gaby wins round
one! You go girl!
Thankfully I saw my Taylor come fighting back
when Ridge, who was extremely mean to her, comes back and they argue about
Thomas. Hector, who was fixing the alarm box overhears Ridge trashing his
wife and comes to her rescue. At this point I would love nothing better
than Ridge to take a hike. I loved Ridge and Taylor together, but now I
just hate it. I welcome a Hector/Taylor relationship if only to see
Lorenzo Lamas more often and make Ridge jealous! We'll see I
guess...
Later Ridge finds Thomas and tells him he has 'no choice'
but end his marriage to Gaby. He actually shows more compassion for Gaby
than Taylor did (unreal) and states they will help Gaby stay in the
country, but no way he was going to stay married to her. Hello Ridge, the
most hypocritical character on the show. Is this not the same treatment
that Ridge has chastised Steph for all these years concerning his
relationship with Brooke? I don't know how Ridge can even say this to his
18+ year old son. He's of age, and he does not need the permission nor the consent of
his parents to do a thing. Besides... while I could 'see' why Ridge would
not want Thomas involved with Amber, Gaby is the sweetest girl on earth...
what in the world does he have against her? Overhearing this conversation,
later Sally relays her support for Thomas and Gaby as she offers Thomas a
large signing bonus to stay with Spectra. That way, Thomas and Gaby can
buy a nice house by the beach, she can go to school and all.
What to say about Eric? I think he owes Steph a BIG apology. She
was balls-on right about what Brooke would do without Ridge. I don't care
that Brooke thinks that she is making some supreme sacrifice by having
Nick stay with Bridget. She shouldn't have those feelings for her future
son-in-law period, abortion or not! Why is it that all these people who
confronted Stephanie as a meddling influence in all of their lives can't
see they are guilty of the same sort of manipulation where their loved
ones are concerned?
I do feel sorry for Bridget. Everyone around
her cares about her but they are all lying and deceiving her. She's in a
bubble, believing what she sees and hears is true, when it's all just
pretend. Her life is a scam, she's being treated like a babbling idiot,
not a young, intelligent woman who's about to become a doctor. Why would
anyone who loves her condemn her into a loveless marriage? This is not the
1950's, single women have children all the time.
This week, I must say, was pretty much... pathetic. No Stephanie
for one. For two, the 'Tridge' reunion is looking grim. For three, I
really feel for Gaby and Thomas! For
four... the tramp from the valley strikes again. But... I am getting ahead
of myself.
The week started with Bridget fessing up to Nick that
she did not have an abortion, and that she just told him she did to 'test'
him to see if he would run into her mother's arms. The most ridiculous
thing about this is that Nick is just standing there, all high and mighty
and going on at nauseum about how could Bridget do this, lecturing her
about dishonesty, while just the night before he and Brooke were
professing undying love to each other. He is just sick, sick, sick. Can he
be MORE of a hypocrite? As they are talking, Nick tells Bridget that they
must go tell Brooke the news that she's not pregnant... why can't this
wait? Bridget told nothing to her mother about the abortion, she just told
this to Nick at the beach, the entire thing is between Nick and
Bridget. When Brooke found out that she did not have the
abortion, she was stunned, petrified, and had that deer in the headlights
look. She was the one that told Eric that Bridget's abortion was a
"blessing"! Can a mother sink any lower... AGAIN? When it comes to Brooke, the answer is YES. Oh, yes, she's
trying to keep Nick away, but she never can because she's just too
flipping weak. Disgusting, Disgusting, Disgusting! What is she thinking? I
tell you what she is thinking... "Bridget is angry with Nick, I will move
in, heck it's not my fault, poor little me... all my life I have been
looking for love, Thorne... Macy be damned, Deacon... my own daughter be
damned, Eric... Stephanie and my own mother damned, Ridge... Caroline and
Taylor be damned." This woman is seriously sick.
On the other
side of town, something nicer is happening. Thomas is having his first
fashion show and it's a smashing success! He was in the hope that his
parents would reconcile at the event, but when Taylor once again asks
Ridge to go to counseling, he flatly refuses. That must be so insulting to
her. She's a psychiatrist for crying out loud! It's like Ridge is
insulting her profession! What a jerk. So... that's the end of that. When
he sees his dad leave, Thomas does not look happy. Thomas, however, had a
romantic evening in mind; he and Gaby really love each other and he wanted
to... consummate the
marriage. Taylor unfortunately finds out what they were about to do and
throws a gasket. I like seeing this side of Taylor, she is far
above and beyond Brooke as far as a 'mother' is concerned, but that leads
me to wondering... does she know that her son is not a virgin? Does she
know that Amber 'broke him in'? Hmmm... that should come out soon if you
ask me. She NEEDS To know that her son is not as innocent as she thinks he
is. Sneaking around his mother's back, Thomas later goes into
Gaby's
room and they make love. Interestingly enough, Thomas is 18, and since he
loves his 'wife', there is nothing 'illegal' that they are doing. He could
easily move out since surely he makes enough money at SPECTRA. I don't see
why there has to be such a conflict.
The character that disappointed me once again this week is Eric. It
never ceases to amaze me how much Eric puts Brooke ahead of everyone else
in his family including his own flesh and blood in Bridget. He had the
opportunity to set Bridget straight, yet he says and does nothing, only to
'protect' Brooke. Can this man be anymore of a loser? What a poor excuse
of a father. No wonder Bridget is so screwed up, with a mother like Brooke
and a father like Eric, it's amazing she is not in the luni
house.
I
am not really sure I really liked what transpired on the show this week,
but, here goes.
The entire week basically revolved around Bridget and her lie to
Nick that she had supposedly terminated the pregnancy just to test him to find out
if he was just going to run into Brooke's arms or not. Bridget wanted to
know if he was going to stay with her for her or just out of obligation
for the child she was carrying, since Nick had confessed to have feelings
for her mother. Even though later Catherine told them that Brooke and Nick
would never betray her, on Nick's boat, they indeed... did. Poor
Bridget... I can see tears ahead, her mother has betrayed her once again,
and something tells me she won't be so quick to forgive her this time. I
mean... it seems as if Brooke and Nick were 'celebrating' the death of
their child/grandchild by professing their love! How sick is that? I know
several of Brooke's fans don't feel sorry for Bridget, they claim she did
it all by herself for getting involved with one of her mother's
ex-boyfriends but I beg to differ. Brooke is to blame 100% over this. For
one, Brooke was married to Ridge, happily might I add, when Bridget got
involved with Nick. Even so, who do we think Bridget learned to be
attracted to older men and her mother's ex-boyfriend's if not from her
mother? After all, Eric was indeed Brooke's mother's ex-boyfriend. We also
have to consider the fact that Bridget has always needed a father figure
in her life. God knows, Eric has been a poor excuse for one. Eric will put
Brooke's needs and will forgive all her faults, even if it means tossing
aside Bridget's feelings. He feels that the whole Deacon's fiasco should
just be forgotten! Bridget has said over and over again how Nick makes her
feel safe and secure... that's a father's job if you ask me, not a husband's. Besides... by having an affair with
Deacon, Brooke proved that Bridget does not need to be involved with her
mother's ex-boyfriends to get hurt by her mother, she will take any man
she is involved with. I've never seen a poorer excuse for a mother, she
has never put her children first and she never will. She always puts
herself first, she loves herself the most. What kind of a mother would cry
for hurting her daughter in one breath and then turn around and kiss her
daughter's fiancée in the other? I don't care if she had Nick first. She
had her daughter long before Nick came around.
In
the meantime Stephanie's little present for Brooke was
a gun. She tells her that the
only way to solve all of Bridget's problems was if Brooke was dead, so she
tells her to shoot herself. When Brooke picks up the gun as if she’s going
to shoot herself, she turns it toward Stephanie instead. Stephanie taunts
Brooke to shoot her, telling her that she would sacrifice her own life to
see Brooke rot in jail and leave Bridget alone, that shooting her would
accomplish the same goal as shooting herself, but when Brooke fires the
gun at Stephanie, she misses. Stephanie was right too... if Brooke or
Stephanie would have been dead at this point into the storyline, Brooke
would have never betrayed Bridget
once again. I love Stephanie. I
think she is the most real and strong woman of them all. She is not a
hypocrite and is always determined to make things right even in
her own crazy way.
Over at Ridge's
mansion, Taylor asks Thorne to talk to Ridge about his indecision over
being committed to her. When Thorne does talk to him,
Ridge tells his brother that he wants Brooke to be happy, but he doesn’t
know if he can leave her behind, not knowing, of course, that Brooke is
already moving forward and hitting the sheets with his brother and telling
his brother that they are true soul mates. Brooke never wastes any time,
does she? Everyone is her soul mate. The only real injured party at
this point, seems to be Taylor (and Bridget, of course), Taylor overhears what Ridge told Thorne and
asks Ridge to go to counseling. When he refuses, she tells him that they
can no longer continue their marriage if he has divided feelings, that she
has lost her patience and can no longer continue with the
situation.
What can I say about this week? Off the wall... unbelievable... I
was so proud of some characters (Bridget, Taylor), some others were so
pathetic it was disgusting (Nick, Brooke, Eric) and Stephanie... I was not expecting
that!!! But... I digress...
The week starts in Big Bear with
Stephanie and Bridget-Stephanie suspected that Bridget might be pregnant,
so she gets the pregnancy test for her and makes sure she takes it. It's
positive, of course. Poor Bridget is so confused. She now once and for all
realizes that Nick will always love and pant after her mother and can't
have that, but after she gets the positive pregnancy test she figures that
she can give Nick what her mother cannot, a baby and the family he always
wanted, so she happily drives down to her mother's house only to find Nick
and Brooke in a romantic interlude, Brooke is in a negligee with candles
and Nick is telling her how much he loves her. Bridget, irate and upset
beyond belief, finally realizes what her mother is capable of, her
blinders are off, and lays it in thick to both Nick and Brooke. Bridget is finally coming to terms with her dysfunctional
relationship with her mother, and I say... it's about time!! Bridget woke
up!! In the past she forgave her mother only to prove to herself that she
is loved. Brooke always says she's made some "mistakes" but she always
blames others and expects to be forgiven, she has no character, and will
always put herself first before her children. Bridget's best line
was 'Mother-go put some clothes on'! That sums up Brooke in one sentence,
doesn't it? Too funny. She then tells Nick if she can’t have all of him,
she doesn’t want any part of him,
making a reference to the baby she is carrying, and then storms out and
runs into Dante who takes her to a hotel room to regroup.
In
the meantime, Stephanie goes to the beach house to see Eric and tell him
about the
predicament his daughter is in, with his fiancée' in love with her mother,
but good old Eric, who has his head nicely stuck in a sand bucket, thinks
that this changes everything. Yes, Eric, Nick is a standup guy, but not
even a baby would make him forget about Brooke. He never could! Stephanie
then goes over to Brooke's house and reveals to Brooke and Nick that
Bridget is pregnant and now they are worried she will terminate the
pregnancy.
The next morning, Nick supposedly looked for Bridget
everywhere, and Stephanie, being the busy body that she is, also looking
for Bridget everywhere, goes over to see Ridge and Taylor asking if she
was there. Ridge and Taylor had no idea what was going on, which I thought
was amusing, since Nick claimed he spent the whole night looking for her!!
Hello Nick! You didn't bother looking at Ridge's house? At any rate...
Taylor and Ridge seem to have problems of their own and Taylor stands up
to Ridge, telling him that she's going along with Thomas' and Gaby's
"marriage" with the INS and that he cannot
come home and spouts out orders, that maybe that's the way things were
when Brooke was around, but that
attitude was not going to fly with her. Good girl Taylor! I am proud of
you!
In
the hotel room, Bridget discusses with Dante the negative consequences of
having Nick’s child, especially when he’s in love with her mother. Her
child would grow up just as she had. Her mother had been in love with her
father's son. Now her child would have a father in love with his/her
grandmother. Later they go to the Doctor to supposedly have an abortion,
but the word 'abortion' or 'terminate' was never
uttered in the show, so...hmmm? Later Bridget meets with Nick at the beach
house. Nick insists they can work things out because of the baby, but
Bridget feels that Nick is just trying to do the right thing because a child is
involved, she then announces she never said there was a baby.
Last... but not least, Stephanie goes over to Brooke's house with a
cute little box, telling Brooke that what's in the box is the answer to
all her problems. When the box is finally opened, it revealed a
GUN!
Once again I skipped a week in my commentaries. This happens because I am so disgusted or overwhelmed by the current storyline and feel like I may stop watching, and after last Friday's show when Eric was so mean to Stephanie... I was simply disgusted, but, I digress.
Last week started when Ridge was being pressured by both Brooke and later Taylor to 'MAKE A FLIPPING DECISION' about which woman he wants to be with, right here and right now- type of thing. Ridge is so confused and obviously overwhelmed by the events he cannot say and does not want to decide right that minute, so the women take charge and decide for him. Brooke tells him to basically 'take a hike', while Taylor helps him pack for the business trip he didn't want to take because, she states, he needs time to be alone and clear his head and decide what's important to him and who is more important to him. If she (Taylor) is the one that he really wants to be with, then she needs to know that he is with her 100% mind and soul. Brooke's speech was all fine and dandy as well, but it came out kind of phony. Even though she claims she wants to be free of Ridge, there is no way Brooke will ever feel complete unless she has a man. She still has a low self-esteem. It's not to say that she shouldn't have a man, but having a man is not needed to define her as a woman. Having and being loved by a man should complement her as a woman. How many times have we heard Brooke say she wanted to be her own woman and how many men has she gone through because she is so mentally dependent upon them in defining her own self-worth? Who will it be next? Hector? Nick again?
In the meantime, Eric wastes no time and asks Brooke to marry him. He goes on and on about how 'happy' they were together, blah blah etcetera etcetera. Sounds like a re-write of history if you ask me! While Brooke admitted it was her obsession for Ridge that spoiled things, when was this ever a happy marriage? And... even so, how long did it last?A hot minute??She was married and living with Eric when Rick was born - but she was living with Ridge when Bridget was born. I don't recall her & Eric raising their kids together in the same household at all.Am I just forgetting something? His conversation with Stephanie was unbelievable... I cannot believe a man who owes who and what he is to Stephanie can go on and on about Brooke's "goodness" and "loving character". Really Eric? This is a woman that slept with your two sons and your so called precious daughter's husband, but of course, none of that is Brooke's fault. Eric could never find fault with anything that Brooke did, heck he practically blamed his daughter by putting up mommy dearest on a pedestal! I say... it's about time Bridget realized that her mom is to blame for every bad thing that happened in her life. As for offering Brooke the Co-CEO position at Forrester Creations... don't get me started. The guy is as dumb as a doorbell.
In the meantime, Nick is too busy having words with Dante and does not notice that little Hope's hair get stuck in the drainage in the SPA which keep her under the water. He frees her and gets her out, performs CPR and calls the ambulance. He is devastated that Hope might die or have brain damage and when Brooke comes over she tells him never to get near her (Hope) again. Oh yeah... one of those empty threats. Minutes later, after she hears him pray, Brooke allows Nick to visit Hope and forgives him. Hope in the end improves and all is well in Brooke's la-la land. However, Bridget witnesses her mother and her fiancée' being EXTREMELY cozy with one another and has a breakdown, so she drives herself to Big Bear to clear her mind and spends the night there. In the morning she was about to leave when Stephanie arrives at the cabin and Bridget breaks down in front of her. Stephanie gets Bridget to admit that Brooke is an emotional abuser. FINALLY! Bridget may see the light after all. However, things may not be so easy and she may not be able to break up with him as she may be pregnant. Even so... who cares... why have a breakdown about Nick when she can have sexy Dante! A man who worships the ground she walks on. Girl, wake up and smell the Italian cappuccino and stop chasing your mother's lovers.
Other storylines these past two weeks? Just a couple of scenes worth mentioning: 1) The INS guy comes over to question Thomas and Gabby about their marriage and Taylor, caught by surprise at the last minute, goes along with Thomas and Gabby's "marriage". 2) Massimo tells Jackie that he's not going to give her anymore 'chances'. Good for him!!
Last week I did not write my commentary/column out of desperation over this storyline. People that love Brooke (for whatever reason I don't understand) told me that this is 'typical' Stephanie behavior. That's not true at all. This is not typical. It's not typical for Stephanie to worry her family to death over her vendetta over Brooke. It's totally out of character. I was mad and angry, but now that this storyline has come and has been played out I must take it for what it is. Stephanie was in exasperation over Brooke and her slutty behavior, and went over the edge. That's how I try to rationalize it. She really was sick and dying inside and just made it look as if it was worse than it was. As a Stephanie fan, I do not condone it, but... I understand it. I understand how someone could be driven over the edge by a blonde bimbo that steals her husband, marries both her children, has a long affair with her step-daughter's husband, cheats on her husbands and yet everyone seems to be so eager to forgive her sins. It's unthinkable that in real life, such person would be excused so easily. Stephanie could never get over Eric's betrayal because Brooke moved in on her family and has never left. She has always been in her face.
I can understand Ridge being mad, obviously he was played like a violin, but he should keep that in mind when he tries to manipulate the life of his own son. The person who greatly disgusted me however, was Eric. We all knew he had a soft spot for Brooke... after all, he forgave her so quickly regarding the paternity of Bridget-while it took him over a year to forgive Stephanie for the same crime. He forgave Brooke so easily when he found out that she had an affair that produced a child with their own daughter's husband. He was mad for like... 5 minutes. Give me a break. And this is not to mention how Brooke stole his company and would not even let his designs go through at one point, until it was Stephanie that came to his rescue and got him the 2% back so he could be CEO again and run his company like he wanted. If Eric really thinks that Stephanie's maternal behavior is so bad that requires him to cut her off from his life, how in the world did he rationalize Brooke's maternal behavior when Brooke slept with their daughter's husband? Isn't that 100 times worse? And to kiss Brooke in front of Stephanie... that was the lowest low. And Brooke, of course, who could have stopped it, just stood there, kissed him back like the tramp that she is. I wonder what Ridge would think about that? This is the icing on the cake. Then Eric wonders why Steph is so bitter and hates Brooke so much.
What to say about Brooke and Jackie's behavior? Senseless. Did Jackie really think that exposing Stephanie meant she could get back into the graces of Massimo? She gained nothing from this. And, interestingly enough, neither did Brooke. Ridge will stay with Taylor, even if it is only after she finally, once and for all, realizes she has and always will be 'second best'. Everyone is so quick to forget and forgive the sordid pasts of Brooke and Jackie. I think it's time for Deacon to come back and remind them.
In the end, the only real thing Jackie and Brooke accomplished is to ruin their children's wedding. I am sure they are so proud of that. Sure, they can gloat at the fact that Stephanie is now alone, I am sure that is some victory for them, right? It's okay. Stephanie will rise on top of this because she is indeed the Queen Mother, the heart and soul of the show. She will rise from the ashes and remain the force to be reckoned with she has always been. After all these years, Stephanie has been the only one whose actions do speak louder than words. She doesn't sit around when she sees her family members are threatened. She always took action, especially when it concerned Brooke. Frankly, I'm sick of all of them and if Susan Flannery leaves the show I might very well stop watching.
But Eric's reaction over finding out that Stephanie didn't really have a heart attack was not the only one that surprised me. Massimo was a major surprise. 'How could I have ever loved you"? Excuse me Mr. Marone, but wasn't it you that staged all kinds of stuff and paid people to get rid of Brooke yourself when you first came onto the show? Massimo recently forced Deacon into rehab to get him out of Jackie's life and now he may forgive her for her betrayal, and yet he has the audacity to 'judge' Stephanie? Please. I also didn't like how Taylor over-reacted. I am sure she will come around eventually, but it seemed over the top, even for her. Even Thorne stood up for Brooke when Stephanie brought up Macy, saying how he's moved on and Macy's drinking wasn't because of Brooke. Brooke didn't make her drink, but her broken heart did. When he stated that he "doesn't look back", that also came out kind of phony. A year ago he was looking back on his childhood and Stephanie had to jump over barrels to try to make that right, but Brooke can just cast him aside and he was over it within a day. Bridget ticks me off as well. All of the insecurities and pain she's felt and the tears she's shed these past few weeks because of her mother and Nick's relationship and yet she still doesn't see that comes directly from her mother's betrayal and she still demands Steph apologize?? Apologize for what? There is no way Stephanie is going to apologize and it's about time Bridget woke up and saw her mother for who she really is and know what she's capable of. However, in her defense, it seems as if she's not the only one that does not see her mother for who she really is. They all must be hypnotized or something... I am disgusted that nobody sees what this woman is capable of except for Steph. Stephanie needs a friend, someone that understands and truly cares for her. Who might that be? Amber maybe? Macy? We need to bring these gals back into the canvas. We need more people that don't cater to Brooke's every need.
This week was so so bizarre in the course of events
that I am not even sure what happened. It seemed to me like Mr. Bradley
Bell wanted to give Jackie a storyline maybe, a very strange one at
that... but, I digress...
The week opens with Ridge at Brooke's house. While
he's there, making every conceivable
excuse for himself for the choice HE made, blaming Stephanie's heart
attack etc., he cannot tell Brooke he would leave Taylor for her, that he
needs more TIME to decide. At that, Brooke basically throws him out. And
let's hope Brooke stays away from Ridge forever. To be honest, I just
couldn't buy the argument that Ridge should choose Brooke because of her
children. Her little girl's father is her son in-law's. And yet again she
had to have a paternity test to determine R.J.'s father because she slept
with Ridge's brother how many HOURS after she thought he had died? Was
there any doubt, on the other hand, that Taylor's 3 kids weren't Ridge's?
Ever? I am not feeling sorry for Brooke. You can't sleep with 4 men
in the same family and your son-in-law and have children with them and not
expect to have backlash. If any of the Brooke lovers had someone in their
family like Brooke, who would sleep with their husband, both sons and
step-daughter's husband, she would be hung out to pasture and ran out of
town. When has she ever put her kids first? Aren't their DNA all mixed up?
It seems like all the kids are sisters and brothers and aunts and uncles.
Brooke has broken up so many marriages in one family it's pathetic. Don't
blame Ridge for this. Brooke has always come in second place, all the way
back to Caroline. She only gets Ridge when one of his wives
die.
While visiting Stephanie at the hospital, Massimo and
Jackie argue over how 'quickly' Stephanie recovered, and how 'suspicious
it is'. Massimo of course would not have any of it and took Stephanie home
leaving Jackie at the hospital. Convinced that Stephanie
faked everything, she invites Dr. Mark to dinner to get him to confess
everything was faked to get Ridge to commit to Taylor. She teams up with
Brooke who is her only ally and believer in this ridiculous story. Dr.
Mark comes over and he did confess that there is indeed something that
Stephanie did, some deception, but did not state what. This made me wonder
if this 'deception' might have anything to do with her heart attack but it
might be about something else entirely... RJ's paternity comes to mind.
Jackie and Brooke may find out that Stephanie's heart attack was indeed
real, but that something else may be amiss... hmmm... Here's what I don't get. Didn't Jackie say she is the
'head' of Stephanie's fan club because now Brooke is free to be with her
precious Nicky? Why is she so hell bent in 'exposing' (if there is
anything to expose... that is) Stephanie? Sure, Stephanie is bad mouthing
Jackie to Massimo, but Stephanie isn't saying anything that isn't true.
Jackie did lie about RJ's paternity for months and months, and she did
have an affair with Deacon that caused Massimo's stroke. Stephanie had
nothing to do with any of those things, Jackie is solely responsible for
the break-up of her marriage, and she would still be with Deacon if he
wouldn't have gone to rehab. The only thing Stephanie is guilty of is
reminding Massimo of what Jackie has done to him. Period! Even IF it is found that Stephanie did fake her heart
attack (which I highly doubt), so what? Is Ridge now going to
'divorce' Taylor? I don't think so. Is that going to make Massimo forgive
Jackie? I don't think so. Massimo is too much a man of integrity for that,
and once he finds out exactly HOW Jackie came upon this information (by
seducing the young doctor), there will be even more hell to
pay.
The best scene of the week is served by Mr. Dante
Damiano!! Not only he's shirtless, he does not like Nick, and kudos to him
for that! Dante slyly asks Nick to give Bridget his best when he was about
to leave. Nick didn't like that and warns Dante to stay away from his
fiancée, to which Dante reminds Nick to stay away from Brooke! Bridget
needed his company because her fiancée was spending way too much time with
her mother. Nick didn't like that and stormed out. Way to go Dante! Who I
am questioning right now is Bridget. Is she following in her mother's footsteps? Monday she was smearing suntan
lotion on Dante. Wednesday she was licking pancake syrup off of Nick's
body. If she is not careful, she'll end up in her own scandals with a baby
by almost every man on the show like her mother. I want my Jennifer
Finnigan back!!! BOO!!
In
the meantime, Ridge finds out that Thomas is now working for Spectra. He
confronts Thomas and asks him if there were any other 'secrets' he would
like to reveal to him. After Ridge asks him about Gaby, he his tempted at
telling him what is happening there too, but resists. Later at dinner
Thomas & Gaby agree that he should tell his parents about their
marriage. It's too late though.. Agent Dunn, an agent for the Bureau of
Citizenship and Immigration Services visits Ridge and Taylor and tells
them about Thomas being married to Gaby. Taylor and Ridge are shocked and
waltz over to the guest house and catch Thomas and Gaby about to go too
far!! Can't wait to see what happens next!!
This week was very hard to watch for me for two main
reasons:
1.
Everyone is accusing Stephanie of 'faking' her heart attack without proof,
while Brooke gets away
with attempted murder scott-free.
2.
Brooke the drama queen "class-less exit" from Ridge and Taylor's mansion.
Then again, she is class-less!
But... I digress. Not only Brooke "the attempted
murderess" unplugs the breathing machine at the end of last week, but now
Jackie is also convinced that Stephanie pulled a good one on everyone and
by doing so she states she was “pole vaulted to the head of her fan
club. Hmmm... Interesting. Then there's of
course Nick, who is also convinced that Stephanie faked her heart attack,
even AFTER she rescued Brooke from going to jail for attempted murder!
Give me a break. I used to like this guy, but now he's absolutely as blind
as a bat. Here's a frail and weak old lady at the hospital, who did not
FORCE anyone to do ANYTHING, and instead of getting some sort of
compassion from people, all she gets is disgusting visitors. Have you
heard the old saying... 'if you have nothing nice to say don't say
anything at all? What has Stephanie actually DONE to Jackie and Nick?
Nothing. She is only guilty of hating Brooke, and if Jackie and Nick were
on Stephanie's shoes, they would hate Brooke too... Thankfully Sally seemed
to be on Stephanie's side... at least someone sees it like it is. Thorne
even took Stephanie's side while talking to Brooke. Way to go
THORNE!!!
After a terrible night, Brooke wakes up the next
morning to go pick up the kids. Taylor offered Brooke sympathy and said
she should have let them know she was there. She didn’t have to move her
things immediately. They should take time and ease the children through
the transition, maybe even get a therapist, but class-less Brooke was just
going to be nasty about it. She just had to insult them. First she told
Ridge that he was 'manipulated' by his mother, and then that the renewal
of their vows were so 'romantic' (sarcastically speaking) that they should
tour the ER on their first anniversary. After they were left alone Miss
Brooke lashed out at Ridge for abandoning their children. Excuse me... but
Hope is NOT Ridge's child. Is she? Besides... Brooke never seemed too
concerned about the 'children' when she left Eric or when she demanded
Deacon not to see Hope. Funny how Brooke plays favorites with her
children's daddies? You very well know that if Ridge would have left
Taylor instead of Brooke, Taylor would not have acted like a 2 year old as
Brooke has. Give me a break. We saw what a gracious a winner Brooke was
when Taylor first arrived - she was ready for her to get out and find a
place the next day!! After being upset at Stephanie
for HIS decision, Ridge goes over to Brooke's house to 'fix' things. When
Brooke answers the door he tells her he had made a horrible mistake.
Brooke looked 'hopeful'. Will he then leave Taylor for Brooke? Who knows.
Ridge and everyone else is blaming Stephanie's REAL heart attack for his
decision. Why would anybody blame Ridge? Stephanie, a weak old woman who
just had a heart attack is much easier a target! GAG!
Of course Bridget couldn't leave it well enough alone
and decided he was going to give hell to Ridge as
well. She sure has a lot of nerve. Why is everyone whining "How could you
do this to Brooke" or "How could you do this to your children?" Didn't
they realize that SOMEONE was going to 'lose and be unhappy?'. Didn't
anyone have a Plan B? I have to admit it though... I gave Ridge kudos for
turning this around on Bridget when she told him that Ridge was dead to
her mom (Brooke)... Ridge reminded Bridget that the last time Brooke
thought he was dead, she slept with Nick, and it would be wise for Bridget
to keep an eye on her fiancée. Good move Ridge!! He was right too. As
Bridget arrived home, there is her fiancée caressing Brooke, telling her
that RJ, Hope and her (Brooke) were the most important people in his life.
What about Bridget Nick? Did you forget her already? I would feel sorry
for Bridget, but for a daughter to completely forgive a mother for doing
what she did to her tells me she's got a screw lose, and at this point she
deserves whatever comes to her.
Dante in the meantime, who was supposed to leave for
Italy after explaining to Ridge his role in Taylor's return, meets Bridget
at the Bikini Bar. He told her that he had met her fiancée at Massimo’s
house and didn’t think he was the right man for her. In fact, Dante
decided to prove his point by removing his shirt and planting a big,
sloppy, wet kiss on Bridget’s lips!!! That was interesting. I don't know
about you, but as much as I like Jack Wagner (not Nick!) I would go for
Dante in a New York Minute.
The only other storyline this week is the Gaby/Thomas
marriage one. The INS pays them a visit and Gaby is scared to death. Poor
girl!
The commentary was on hiatus for 3 weeks because of
my vacation, and I have so much to say, I am not sure if I can fit it all
in!! I promise I will be as brief as possible!!
The first of these three weeks starts off with Ridge
claiming he had made his decision... but that he didn't. To make things
clearer for him, he needs time alone at the beach house to 'reconnect'
with Taylor first, and the next day with Brooke. For the life of me I
don't understand why he needs to reconnect with Brooke? Brooke was not the gal
that was gone for several years! Geez. In
the meantime, everyone... and I do mean everyone, is giving Stephanie a
real hard time for meddling. This is the part I don't get. Everyone is
meddling! Nick is meddling, Jackie is meddling, Bridget is meddling, Eric
is meddling... and the list goes on! And why on earth is Steph made out to
be such a bitter old crow when she points out Brooke's pattern of
behavior? History is the best indicator of future behavior, why is
everyone in such denial of what this woman is capable of? Is everyone's
memory that short? Bridget's memory sure is short in my view. What
daughter would so completely forgive their mother for sleeping and
conceiving a child with their husband? Give me a break. How unreal is
that? And why is Eric so upset that Stephanie is rooting for Taylor and
even telling Stephanie to be nice to Brooke or their marriage is over? Who
the heck is he married to? Brooke or Stephanie? Eric needs to start either
supporting Stephanie or keeping his trap shut. His support of Brooke is
not only disgusting, it's betraying of his marriage to Stephanie. And why
is everyone so supportive of Brooke after all the stunts she pulled over
the years? She must have some powerful umpah in those panties I guess...
UGH.
Gabriela, in the meantime, gets upsetting news. Her
mother had never made her
citizenship legal, so she is not only not going to get her scholarship,
but she is going to be deported! Thomas calls Connor the lawyer which
tells him that the only way she can stay at this point is if she marries a
citizen. Thomas later gets down on one knee and proposed to a stunned
Gabriela. Being the sweet girl that she is, Thomas really needs to
convince her that this is the only alternative available, but in the end
they make a quick trip to Vegas and make it legal. They were hoping to
keep it a secret from everyone, but Nick just happened to be in the same
chapel (what are the chances of that???) with Bridget and sees him. What
will happen next is anyone's guess. Nick and Bridget were outside waiting
to get married as well, but as their alcohol “buzz” dissipated, they
decide to hold off on their nuptials.
And so begins another very loooong B&B day, which
will last two weeks (and may last longer!). Taylor arrives at the beach
house to spend the day with Ridge. They have a very nice time, talking,
reconnecting. Taylor leaves in the evening after a fun and fulfilling day.
Although Brooke is not supposed to arrive in Malibu until the next day,
she secretly lets herself into the house and when she hears the shower
running, heads right to the bathroom. Brooke gets buck naked and tries to
seduce Ridge, who refuses to make love to her. Typical Brooke! Using sex
to get what she wanted. When Taylor and
Stephanie find out where Brooke is, Stephanie heads over there and tells
Brooke off and shoves the little tramp from the Valley out the door. She
then has words with Ridge, but as they argue Stephanie is feeling ill and
it becomes apparent she is having another heart attack. Ridge brings Stephanie to the hospital
where Dr. Mark takes care of her. At the hospital Stephanie is getting
worse and mutters that Ridge belongs with Taylor, and that if he picks
Brooke she does not want to live to see it. Ridge
calls Taylor to come to the E.R. because of Stephanie’s heart attack.
Brooke wants to come too, but Ridge says no, that her presence would upset
her. After Taylor arrives and calms Stephanie, the Chaplain arrives to
lead a family prayer. An upset Ridge asks the Chaplain to stay, then asks
Taylor to re-marry him. Taylor is delighted, as is Stephanie. Eric however
takes the time to call Brooke and tells her to get to the hospital as fast
as she can. When Brooke arrives at the hospital there is no-one there,
just Stephanie, who is breathing thanks to a respirator machine. Brooke
does not feel bad for Stephanie at all, she is mean from the get-go and
accuses Stephanie of faking it. After she yells at her, asking where Ridge
is, Stephanie tells her that Ridge and Taylor renewed their vows by her
bedside. An enraged Brooke goes ballistic and sure that Stephanie is
faking it, unplugs the respirator, being extremely sarcastic, telling her
that to please die to prove her wrong. When
the machine starts beeping, Dr. Mark and a few nurses walk in to save
Stephanie and a couple of orderlies escort Ms. Logan out of the room for
questioning. A lucky Brooke gets rescued by Nick, who obviously is more
concerned about Brooke's "feelings" than the fact that she almost killed
another human being. Wake up Nick!!!
Lastly, we see a glimpse of what might very well
become an important character on the show: Dante. Strangely enough,
Massimo knows him, and Bridget knows him. He had apparently been hired by
Omar to paint and sculpt Taylor...err... princess Leila, and was
supposedly responsible for making sure she got safely back where she
belongs. Is there more to the story? Of course. And I can't wait to find
out!!
It was a 'Stephanie's meddling' week and I would not
have it any other way, especially when it has to
do with ousting Brooke from the family. Stephanie starts the week off by
inviting Nick over to admit that he has feelings for Brooke and to have
him talk to Taylor as well. When Taylor questions why he is defending
Brooke so much (and he does not even want to know how Brooke has hurt
every single member of the Forrester's family, I call that denial and
love) and asks him if he's in love with her, he does not deny it. He keeps
saying, over and over again that he's in love with Bridget and he's going
to marry Bridget, at the same time this unwavering support for Brooke
tells the tale louder than he could ever say. The interesting thing is
that both Bridget and Brooke are just 'so upset' when anyone 'suggests'
that Nick would go after Brooke if she was free, and that Brooke would
'never' do such a thing, but... ya know what? SHE HAS DONE IT BEFORE! Just
wait and see, it will happen, there is no question, and Bridget needs to
open those eyes that are so wide shut and see her mother for who she
really is. Bridget deserves what's coming when Brooke cries on Nick's
shoulder again. Brooke has never cared before about who she hurts, she
just wants who she wants and to hell with anyone else's feelings! Bridget
is not admitting to herself or any one else she scared to death her mother
will take Nick away from her. She rather tell Stephanie to go to 'hell'
and refuses to listen. I do believe she is in for heartache, and, frankly,
she deserves it at this point, for sticking out for a mother that has betrayed her and for
vilify everyone else.
Before Taylor made it to Stephanie's house though,
she had a talk with Brooke and asked her how she could be so promiscuous
over the past years. Brooke tells Taylor that Stephanie is only letting
her "mistakes" be heard, and not her accomplishments. Here we go with her
little "mistakes" (rolling my eyes). And what the heck are her
accomplishments anyway? She was nice to Taylor's children for...what, a
year? Can't she see why Taylor would want her children, and especially her
impressionable girls, as far away from Brooke as possible? Does Brooke
think she is really this great role model? What irks me is that there is
no apology or humility coming from Brooke, just excuse after excuse. She
just makes me want to vomit... sorry for being so graphic. This character
truly revolts me. It made me laugh so hard when Brooke said it's easy to
be a "saint" when you've been in a coma the last few years in reference to
Taylor!! My goodness, we never asked you to be a "saint" Brooke, just a
decent human being who doesn't sleep with your daughters husband and have
paternity mix-ups because you have relations with 2 men in a 24 hour
period... not once but twice now!!
Meanwhile, Thomas is very
upset that grandpa Eric and daddy Ridge won't let him be their 'newest'
designer. After all, they had hired Caitlin & Amber without any prior
training, even had Rick as vice-president without any training, so why
shouldn't he be given a chance as well? When Sally hears that the youngest
Forrester has interest in becoming a designer, she snags him right up. I
wonder what Ridge and Taylor will have to say about that!!
What was interesting about
Thomas this week is how he dumped Caitlin. I thought it was nice and
thoughtful, instead of just stopping the phone calls, avoiding her or lie,
which is what guys his age would do. Since Caitlin's fashion line is not
so hot and now Thomas dumped her, I wonder if they are going to get rid of
this character now. Considering that her mother is practically 'gone' from
the show and only her daddy MIA Lorenzo Lamas remains in the canvas, I
wonder what's going to happen to this family. Frankly, I am amazed that
the writers haven't given Mr. Lamas a good and juicy storyline like they
have for Mr. Wagner. What a loss of a good actor.
Since I was on vacation last week I didn't get to
write my commentary, so this commentary will cover the past two weeks! I
figure I say this before I start it so nobody gets confused.
Last week we saw the real beginning of everyone
taking sides in... well, full force. Jackie has talks to both Nicky and
Stephanie about Brooke reuniting with Nicky, although Stephanie does not
think Brooke would betray her daughter again (yeah right!). Jackie,
however, is so determined to see Brooke with Nick (why oh why? I have no
idea. Just wait until Brooke goes after Massimo, we'll see how much Jackie
will like Brooke then!) that this week she even went as far as going to
see Brooke and telling her how she feels herself, playing on Brooke's
insecurities... hmmm...
Jackie, of course, is not the only one sticking her
nose into this Brooke/Ridge/Taylor triangle drama. Nick went over to Chez
Ridge to tell Ridge to choose Brooke and basically RJ and Hope, and Nick
does not even know Taylor at this point. Ridge then tells him he cannot
play favorites with his children... well said Ridge! Another person who
stuck his nose in it is Thomas... He tells Brooke that she was a great mom
but now that Taylor is back she must leave. Later in the week we even see
this sobbing scene hugging Brooke, blah bla blah. One thing I am wondering
is... when was Brooke a "great" mom? She's only been married to Ridge and
living under their roof for LESS than a year (they haven't aged RJ... he's
still a baby, so we know it's been less than a year for sure) and the
girls were in boarding school for half that time and Thomas and her were
at odds because of Amber... besides, he was going to school, working at
Forrester too... when was he ever home anyway? Did I miss something? Give
me a break. Looking at the history since Taylor died, Brooke called off
her engagement to Ridge and moved in and out of that house several times
in the past few years. She's less than the
model of stability she and Ridge would have Taylor believe. She's only
acted mature since she's gotten what she wants, before that she acted
childish and self absorbed. She will quickly regress if she doesn't get
her way. Bridget was more there for the children than her if I remember
correctly. Also... this unwavering support from Bridget for Brooke is
coming off very bizarre. Would ANYONE completely forgive their mother for
sleeping and having a child with their husband? When Jennifer Finnigan had
the role, at least we saw how uncomfortable she was around her mother and
that she even had doubts of telling Thomas and the girls of what kind of
mom Brooke was, but we see NONE of that... ZILCH with Ashley Jones in this
role. Because of this I find her support completely unbelievable. I think
she just wants her mom to come up the 'winner' in this contest so she
won't go after her fiancée'... because, we know, it will happen. I know
everyone is blasting Stephanie for meddling, but everyone is meddling!
Bridget even told Ridge how she felt, trying to get him to choose Brooke.
Taylor is Ridge's true love, she may be "boring" to some viewers. But if
boring means having morals and integrity, then let "boring"
win!!
I
read somewhere that Price Omar might have had something to do with the
paternity test of RJ (the last one). What would Ridge do if he found out
that RJ was Nick's child after all? Especially if he finds out after he
chose Brooke over Taylor? And what about Bridget, who is so in denial
about her trashy mother do when Nick finds out he has the child he so much
wanted to have with Brooke? Brooke would have then borne children from
both of Bridget's husbands. Bridget is acting too high and mighty and
completely blind in regards to her mother, and she needs to be brought
down a peg and shown what complete disrespect Brooke has for her and
everyone else.
It seems like Thomas and Gaby are getting close and
becoming good friends, so it was only natural that Gaby would be so happy
for him and hug him when she found out his mother was alive. Miss priss
Caitlin just 'walks in' (does anyone ever knock?) and sees their embrace
and she gets all upset and storms out before Thomas has the chance to
explain things to her. At this point I don't think Thomas is too worried
about her. She is getting what she deserves after the Rick's fiasco if you
ask me!
We saw Brooke's insecurities from day 1 of Taylor's
return and we keep seeing it over and over again. When Ridge was planning
to move into the guest bedroom after Thomas stated to him how it would not
be fair to his mother if Brooke and Ridge kept sleeping together
(something Brooke was planning on to lure Ridge to her side) she
volunteered to move into the guest bedroom and as soon as she got there,
wha, wha, wha, whine, whine whine, she immediately calls Bridget and ends
up spilling her guts to Nick. Can we say... pathetic? On the other hand,
Taylor is staying strong and loving, which is the Taylor we all know and
love. Boy, have I missed her!
As much as I love and adore Stephanie, I think she
went a bit over the edge when she went to see Brooke and told her to step
aside and let Taylor and Ridge raise RJ... but, you know what? Brooke has
never paid for her misdeeds, she's been forgiven for every disgusting
thing she's ever done, and, sorry, she has it coming. I find it amusing
how she calls her
misdeeds 'mistakes'... Right Brooke. Let me tell you what 'Mistakes' are
honey. A mistake is when you put two different colored socks on... a
mistake is when you dial the wrong number. A mistake is NOT 'OOPS, I slept
with my daughter's husband' (over and over again!) or 'OOPS, I slept with
my husband's brother'. Phlease. And the thing that drives me crazy is how
she is completely void of humility when she talks about this, and everyone
always forgives her for everything! But of course Taylor should know about
her "Mistakes"! It's pathetic that Ridge hadn't told her already, because
we know that Brooke would rather sweep her "mistakes" under the rug. Ugh!
Good for Stephanie for filling Taylor in. As usual, Ridge, instead of
explaining his 'forgiving' or instead of Brooke explaining herself, they
are shooting the 'messenger' (Stephanie). How typical of them. Brooke
sleeps around like a cheap w**** with whomever she likes, but God Forbid
Stephanie be upset that she's going through her family like a disease!
Give me a break. What's even more annoying is everyone, Ridge, Bridget,
Eric, even Brooke, of course, EXPECT Stephanie to just forgive and
forget... would you forgive and forget if someone like Brooke went through
your family with no worry on who she is hurting? Not even her own
daughter?
This week we saw full force the old Brooke
resurfacing. Insecure, even mean, and always selfish. While she acts all
secure about her marriage in her conversations to the
worried Bridget and Nick, she acts far from secure around Ridge, and even
goes to the extent to getting brochures of houses nearby for Taylor, who
hasn't really been back for more than 24 hours. Brooke tries to convince Taylor the young children
need Ridge in their life, and while that is true, it seems convenient that
she brings this up now and only now she's worried about her children...
she worries because it's convenient to her. She never worried if Rick and
Bridget grew up without their father, and never let Deacon even see his
own daughter for many years. Also, she seems to have forgotten that right
after she divorced Thorne she was going after Ridge full throttle and
didn't care that they had a family. I remember her saying to Taylor that
the kids will always have their father, he just won't live with them.
Anyone remembers that? I do, and I hope Taylor does too. While Taylor keeps telling her that this is a
decision that Ridge should make (as usual, Taylor makes the most sense out
of anybody on the show), Brooke tells her to leave. Leave the house that
was bought for Taylor, the house where 3 of Taylor's children live, and
leave what technically is still Taylor's husband. Brooke was completely
out of line. This of course makes Taylor have a heart to heart talk with
Ridge telling him that she wants him back. I am not sure this talk would
have happened if Brooke would have left it well enough alone. Using the only card that she obviously has, by the
end of the week, Brooke tries to seduce
Ridge to make her feel 'secure'. So... Brooke finds 'security' in sex then
I wonder? Figures. I feel sorry for Ridge in a way. This is a obviously
confused man. He hasn't slept in 2 days and is overwhelmed. There is a lot
at stake here for a lot of people. Making love is not going to clarify
anything. It never has.
The highlight for the week was the reunion of
Stephanie with Taylor. It was amazing!! Susan Flannery is such a fantastic
actress, and it is clear as a bell in these scenes why she's won Emmy
after Emmy for this role. Stephanie of course, always loved Taylor like a
daughter and is thrilled to have her back and tells her that Ridge has
never stopped loving her. Later Stephanie talks to Ridge and tells him to
put his family back together and not to fall for Brooke's seduction
scenes, which, like a clock, did indeed happen later. Stephanie knows
Brooke like no other, that's for sure.
The character that really disappointed me this week
(and I hear will keep disappointing me) is Nick. I really love Jack
Wagner, but for him to be Brooke's puppy dog really reduces him to a
character that I will for sure dislike for a long time. Not for a moment
he stopped to think about Taylor and how she must feel, he never met the
woman and yet his mind is already made up about her. It's hardly fair.
The thing is, he only
cares about Brooke, no matter how much Bridget tells him how tough it
would be for both women. This is very dangerous territory, and I smell a
Bridget/Nick/Brooke triangle a mile away. Who will come out very hurt out
of this is Bridget, because, as we know and remember, Brooke has betrayed
her daughter once before and it looks as if she will again. I will not put
anything past Brooke at this point.
The fact of the matter is, there will be characters
who will take sides, and we know who they are. Stephanie will be on
Taylor's side, while Eric will pawn for Brooke's (as usual!). Jackie will
for sure take Taylor's side (if only to get Brooke free for her own son)
but I have a feeling Massimo will be a bit confused about the whole thing.
I know he loved Taylor, but he's come to respect Brooke as well, so... who
knows. It will be interesting to see. Also... it goes without saying that
Taylor's children will take their mother's side, and Brooke's children
will take their mother's side. Bridget however has her own ulterior motive
for advocating for her mother. The last thing Bridget wants is for Brooke
to be single and needing a shoulder to cry on.
I
am sure I am not the only one really enjoying the show right now. I've
cried and cried on many occasions this week and I can't wait for the
Taylor/Stephanie reunion! But... I am
getting ahead of myself...
The week starts with Jackie telling Nick that she
believes what happened at the wedding may be a sign the Nick is meant to
marry someone else. After a long talk with the two, finally Jackie gives
her blessing and hugs Bridget. Clearly there are rough waters ahead, since
Nick will for sure be the shoulder for Brooke to cry on. Ugh. I am not
looking forward to that. More Brooke tears... can I GAG? And poor Bridget
has to witness this? I can't imagine.
Over at Chez Ridge, Brooke screams and later faints
when she sees Taylor. The class-act that Taylor is, she thanks Brooke for
all she's done for her family and asks her about the children. Brooke
looks a little (well, a LOT) uneasy, but she tells her what she wants to
know, making sure to let Taylor know how they are a family. When the girls
finally come home and have their reunion with their mother, a frantic
Brooke calls Bridget. The character that gets my weekly bows is indeed
Bridget. WOW! I am starting to like her again after that Amber fiasco. For
certain Brooke had asked her to come over to commiserate, instead Bridget
is so happy for Thomas and the Girls that she didn't really give in to
Brooke's obvious need for her to commiserate about HER. Good for her. She
also later praised Taylor to Nick and stated that there is no "winner",
and that there is no 'right' thing to do, that Ridge just will need to
pick. If Brooke can put HER
needs aside and show maturity instead of antagonistic feelings, she CAN
keep Ridge! But she won't do that. I just know it... that's just not in
her nature...
Since Brooke could not get sympathy from Bridget, she
takes the opportunity, after Bridget leaves, to parade RJ to Taylor. The
way she acted was really quite rude. She claimed RJ wanted to see his
daddy? Yeah... right. Like he can talk... give me
a break. Brooke also said that RJ was the baby Ridge & her always
wanted... common now, that was lower than low. Who would say that at a
time like this? Classic manipulative Brooke, so insensitive, insecure
& selfish. And then, when Ridge asked Brooke to leave Taylor and the
kids alone, Brooke didn't want to leave the room, she was giving them some
really weird looks. I swear, Brooke came across absolutely pathetic.
Taylor hasn't even been back 24 hours and yet Ridge is supposed to fill
her in on every detail of his life since she 'died'. AAckk. And then to
sit there and lecture Ridge about how Taylor should stay with Stephanie or
the beach house... HELLO? Who died and left her in charge? Isn't this a
decision that her husband & Taylor's children should make? She should
have asked Ridge... "Where is Taylor going to stay?" or just think of the
children and even OFFER a room for Taylor in the house, but to TELL HIM
where she SHOULD stay!!? I can't wait for Monday's show. I haven't read
any previews yet, but I am sure Ridge is not going to let Taylor go
anywhere but stay with her children, and if Brooke knows what's good for
her, she should start acting a little less paranoid and a little more
confident, or she'll for sure lose Ridge. It's
interesting how Brooke is trying to hold on to Ridge by 'using' RJ. If
it's so important for Brooke's children to grow up with their father, why
didn't Brooke stay married to Eric then? And why she didn't even LET
Deacon see Hope for a long time? It is so typical of Brooke, she will do
whatever she wants and who cares whose feelings are hurt in the mix. There
is a real concrete difference between Taylor & Brooke here. Taylor's
kids ALL belong to Ridge.
Funny... Taylor has been back a mere 2 weeks (well,
24 hours in B&B time-line!) and Ridge has already softened up. I like
him again and that is saying a lot. Also, I've been on Brooke-friendly
boards and all they can state is how ridiculous this storyline is of
Taylor coming back from the 'dead'. Actually... I think it's wonderful. It
gives us a tiny glimpse of how wonderful it will be to be reunited with
those that have passed on. Is the idea of Taylor returning from the dead
silly? Yes. Is it implausible? Of course. But fantasy is what daytime
drama is all about, and this is daytime drama at its very best!
It was only starting on Friday that we FINALLY moved
on to a new day. Yes, these two entire weeks revolved around one single
day's events. If it was going to last any longer I was going to suggest to
the producers/writers to
rename the soap B&B 24!! LOL.
But... I digress... nobody is happier over Taylor's
return than myself. I am truly a happy camper! I know there are fans of
the show that are aghast at the explanation but I could not care less. It
makes sense and we get Taylor back! It's a win-win situation for me!
Monday's episode was great.
Ridge opened Taylor's casket and found that there was a dummy in there and
not a corpse. At first of course he was fooled since it was such an
amazingly real-looking dummy. Sitting there in disbelief, Prince Omar
appears and explains that he saved Taylor’s life and had a dummy made to
put into the coffin to fool the family and to be buried. She was not
really dead when they thought she was, he explained, she had just slipped
into a coma. His men came in, forged the death certificate, stabilized her
and whisked Taylor's body to his palace in Morocco to nurse her back to
health. She was supposedly in coma for a very long time. In complete
disbelief, Ridge turns to see Taylor walking toward him. Ridge is, of
course, beside himself, and it's a fantastic reunion for both of them. He
later takes her to the beach house so they can talk and they stay up all
night talking about the kids and how the reunion will be. Funny thing... when Ridge
was in Venice he was haunted by the vision of his 'soulmate' that he could
not remember (Brooke supposedly) and now that Taylor is back it's like...
Brooke who?? He does not even remember he's married or even thinks about
Brooke until Taylor notices his wedding band and thinks that it's THEIR
wedding band. Ridge then confesses to her that he did re-marry and why
etcetera. The class-act that Taylor is, she tells him that she
understands, she cries, but they are willing to work things out. It's not
until the morning that Ridge even thinks of calling Brooke, who was
worried sick at this point. I knew it... Ridge's heart has always been
with Taylor and with Taylor it will always be.
Over on the Shady Marlin Nick is asking Bridget all
kinds of questions about Taylor, they are both worried about Ridge's
mental state, and later they enjoy the top of the wedding cake, stating
that they are doing things backwards... having cake first, then the
honeymoon, and lastly the wedding.
Meanwhile Stephanie and Eric are extremely worried about Ridge
and his mental state. They are absolutely in horror to find out he went to dig up Taylor's grave, so Thorne
brings his parents to the cemetery looking for Ridge. They were
surprised not to find him there ( But they weren't surprised that new dirt
and fresh sod was replaced on the site?). It was here that Stephanie
realized how much Ridge truly missed Taylor and that he probably never
really grieved. Thinking Ridge went home, Stephanie, worried sick about
her son, goes over there only to find that he's not there, so she has a
little chat with Brooke and they agree that Ridge needs psychiatric help.
Comes morning, Stephanie takes Thomas and the twins over to her house and
explains to them that their dad needs help and try to reassure them.
In the meantime a frantic
and very happy Ridge finally comes home to Brooke. He tries as he might to
explain what happened to him the night before, that Taylor is alive, how
that is possible, what happened at the grave site, tells her about Omar,
but Brooke dismisses everything he says and tells him he needs help and
repeats to him over and over again that Taylor is DEAD. Uh-Oh... the
doorbell rings. Ridge tells Brooke it's Taylor and that he should get the
door but Brooke wants nothing to do with this 'fantasy' of his, she heads
over to open the door and.... DRUM ROLL PLEASE! It's TAYLOR!! Brooke lets
out a scream like she'd seen a ghost, because, as we know, she
has!
This entire week revolved around the events of one
single day-the day that was supposed to be Nick
& Bridget's wedding. What a long day! Phew! Sometimes I wonder how
soaps in general can get away with the rapid age of the youngsters when a
day can last a week? If anything, the opposite should be true... but, I
digress...
The ceremony
was in full swing (and what a nice ceremony it was) when a mysterious yell
is heard from the bushes outside of the wedding area. Ridge runs to see
what the problem is, and sees a prowler with a ski mask with his hand over
a woman's mouth dressed in a pink outfit with a veil over her face. When
Ridge tries to stop the prowler he gets a good look at this woman's face
(whatever he could see behind the veil and with the prowler's hand over
her mouth) and instinctively knows it's Taylor. Because he's shocked and
in disbelief he does not realize there are others waiting to take this
woman away, and they hit him in the head. He collapses and before anyone
could see them, the mysterious woman and the two prowlers are gone. When
the rest of the wedding party comes out to see what happened an ambulance
is called and Ridge is taken to the hospital. Bridget and Nick are left
behind and decide to postpone the wedding until the Best Man is better.
Poor Nick must be cursed. He seems
to not be able to make it through one of his weddings and actually get
married!!
At the hospital
Ridge tells everyone what or... WHO he saw and everyone thinks he's
delirious. It's just not possible. Brooke is upset when Ridge tells her
that he would know his own "wife". Thomas is also upset by this
revelation, however, he later confesses to Bridget that it was nice that
his mother was at least mentioned, and after taking Gaby home he sits in
the car remembering his lovely mom. After Dr. Mark reveals that Ridge did
not receive another concussion, both Eric and Stephanie are not sure why
Ridge would go on and on about Taylor like this, so Dr. Mark digs out
Taylor's death certificate and it's found that the Dr. that supposedly
signed the death certificate in an unknown doctor. Stephanie also
remembered that Taylor had unhooked all her life support machines before
she died. Therefore, there was no flat line or alarm to show she had died.
This is all Ridge needed to get the wheels turning, and stated he wasn't
going to rest until he had proof that Taylor was indeed dead and
gone.
After Stephanie leaves, Ridge decides to leave the
hospital. Determined to discover if
the woman at the wedding was indeed Taylor, he calls Nick and Thorne to
ask for their help. He then meets his brothers at Taylor’s gravesite and
asks for their help in digging up the coffin. Of course Nick and Thorne
were not happy with the idea and let Ridge know their feelings, but once
they saw that Ridge was going to do this with their help or not, they
decided to help their big brother.
Ugh... now we have to wait all weekend to find out
what happens next. Will it be an empty grave? Will it be a grave with
someone else's body, and, if so, unless Ridge is now a CSI, how would he
know that the corpse in there is not Taylor's?
Something strange happened this week... suddenly I'm
liking Ridge. He was just a completely different person when he was with
Taylor. He's a total jerk when he's with Brooke, but I guess she brings
that out of him. I miss the nice Ridge. Will we see him back now that
Taylor is back? I hope so! I must admit, I cried when Taylor died. I am
crying now when I see people in scenes they remember her in. I am
literally glued to the TV screen and refuse to read any spoilers! I am
just so excited I can hardly stand it!!
It yet another wedding week at B&B, this time
around it's between Bridget & Nick. This
entire week revolved around these upcoming nuptials. Will this marriage last? Let's hope so, shall we?
However, I must admit, I loved the little tidbits of humor thrown here and
there by various characters about how 'good' Brooke was at throwing
weddings, since she has so much experience!! It was a hoot.
The biggest challenge for
Bridget this week was to get everyone to accept her relationship and
wedding to Nick, and I must say that by week's end it looks as if she
actually pulled it off! Massimo shook hands with Eric, Eric made (and
sewed!!) Bridget's wedding gown and even Ridge stood up for Nick. But not all is wine and roses. We have a prowler!
First we see the prowler ripping off the picture of Nick & Bridget
from a magazine, then he yells on the phone to Brooke and then he jumps
the balcony of Chez Ridge, leaving a very frightened Brooke standing
by. There are rumors and a big shocker
happening, the fact that our beloved Taylor is BACK! There was a woman all
dressed in pink standing by outside of the wedding areas looking at Ridge,
so my wild guess is that that is indeed her. But why tear up the picture
of Nick and Bridget if she is the prowler? We'll see I guess. My guess is that the
stalker is not Taylor. There was a picture I saw at the official B&B
site of Ridge at the wedding being hit in the back by the prowler while
the lady in the pink suit is watching, so the two must not be the same
person. However, this leads me to yet another question. Where is
security?
I must admit I
am very excited at seeing Taylor back, no matter how they explain it or
how unbelievable it will sound. Bring it on I say!! I bet this is going to
create drama out to wazoo!! To be honest, I'll take Taylor any way I can
get her. I won't complain if Ridge chooses Brooke because of the baby. I
won't complain about anything. I'll just sit back and enjoy the gift I've
been given.
But... I
digress... Eric and Ridge were not the only ones not too happy about this
wedding, Jackie goes and has a chat with Brooke about it, Jackie
does not seem convinced that Nick really loves Bridget and that this is a
rebound relationship. Who has no doubts
however are Stephanie and Massimo, who couldn't be happier. Even Rick flew
in on a VERY short notice from Italy and he was also very approving of
Bridget's new man. OK, so this is a soap, but Bridget and Nick had just
decided that morning to get married the next day. How did Rick already
hear the news, book a flight, and arrive in Los Angeles before sunset?!? I
took an Alitalia flight once from Milan (where Rick supposedly was) to
LAX and it took us 11
hours. How is that possible? Ahhh... soapland really lives in another time
and place! Here's two people who I like to hear how they feel about this
wedding but we for certainly won't: Ozzy and Deacon. Bridget was obviously
smitten enough by Ozzy to accept his engagement a little over a year ago,
now she is about to marry his cousin! How weird is that! But... wait, it
gets weirder. Deacon's ex-wife is about to marry the son of his ex-lover
and his daughter is the flower girl for this wedding! Sadly these
characters are off the canvas at this moment, but we would have fun with
those scenes, wouldn't we? Oh well.
The wedding itself was really nice, we see Nick
playing with Hope, Hope looking cute as usual, lots of flowers and even
the Ramirez were invited. Are they their only friends I wonder?
Hmmm...
Rumor has it that the wedding will not take place and
it will be indeed postponed. Well... poo on that! However I do like these
joyful events, anything to keep from seeing Brooke from crying is alright
by me!
We begin the new week over at the Shady Marlin,
Bridget had just accepted Nick's proposal, and
the pair makes love, and we also see Brooke and Ridge going at it. I must
admit the show was a bit boring, all these bedroom scenes... however, this
week... the show, as usual, revolved around Ridge. What I don't understand
is the reasoning behind the Morgan storyline being cut short. Supposedly
Ronn Moss (Ridge) wanted his character back with Brooke and redeemed a bit
since he's been so hateful the past several months. So much for the
gentler, kinder Ridge. The moment he remembers that Nick punched him he
immediately goes to see him (he just now remembers Nick punched him, yet
he knows the way to his boat?) and he starts with his accusations of
raping his wife etcetera, attacking Nick’s character and integrity. Of
course he's furious about Nick and Bridget being engaged too. Ridiculous.
Why isn't anyone taking Ridge to a Dr? A Neurologist?
Anybody?
Meanwhile, at the Forrester’s, Stephanie tries her
best to convince Eric to have faith in Nick as well as his intentions for
Bridget. Eric is concerned that Nick might still have feelings for Brooke
and tells Bridget he does not approve. What I wonder is why he would even
worry about that, since he himself dated Brooke's mother and then married
Brooke and even had children with her. Did he harbor feelings for Brooke's
mom and married Brooke as a substitute? Stephanie is right, he should have
a little faith. However, thinking back, Eric seems to think no-one is good
enough for his little girl. He was not happy with Bridget being with
Deacon, he was not happy with Bridget being with Ozzy, he was (of
course-I give him this one!) not
happy she had feelings for Ridge a while back and now he's not happy with
Nick. Who is it going to take Daddy Dearest?
Later, when Ridge confronts Bridget about marrying
Nick, he tells her that he will not let her marry Nick. There's another
hypocrite for you. He gave his mother HELL for not wanting him to marry
Brooke, yet he can tell his step-daughter that no way in hell she's going
to marry Nick? Bridget is a grown woman, she does not need anyone's
"permission" to marry anyone anyway! What I found... wrong.. just wrong...
is how Ridge stated to Bridget that once any male sleeps with her mother
then that man will never be able to forget it or move on. Really Ridge?
Now... for starters, that is the sickest thing to tell to anyone's
daughter I have ever heard. How would you like to hear from anyone that
your mother is the world's greatest lay? Besides... Eric managed to move
on, Deacon managed to move on, Thorne managed to move on - and Ridge
actually moved on more than once. Hmmm... Here's
my question: why does Bridget want her family's approval anyway? She
married Deacon and everyone hated him!! She didn't care whether she had their approval or
not! The whole situation makes no sense, and both Eric and Ridge should
truly take a hard look in the mirror before opening their
mouth.
Stephanie later learns that Gabriela’s mother, Helen,
was deeply in debt when she died, leaving Gabriela with nothing, she even
gets evicted. When Gabriela comes to get her mother's things, Stephanie
offers Gabriela a place to stay, but a prideful Gabriela tells her only on
one condition, that she gives her some sort of job, so Stephanie hires her
as a personal assistant. When Thomas finds out he's pleased and relieved,
and I could tell that he feels much better now that he's learned the his
grandmother has taken care of the girl.
Later in the week Amber
arrives at the Forrester’s to find that Stephanie won’t forgive her for
what she’s done. Amber tells Stephanie how important their friendship is
to her and promises to do whatever it takes to make things right between
them. I find it interesting that she's not saying where she's staying. I
thought for sure Massimo & Jackie would let her stay at their place
for a little while at least, as a thank you for saving Ridge, but... who
knows what happened? Does she have a job? What is she doing? Will she just
disappear from the canvas? Who knows. I am, for one, rooting for her to do
something amazing that will redeem her. We'll see!
We
are still in Venice this week, but not for long. After much debate Amber
decides to confront Ridge and much to her dismay, he does not recognize
her. She then tries to fill in the gaps as Morgan showers. Ridge is
particularly upset to find out that he has children and wants Amber to
tell him all about them. Just as Amber was calling Brooke, Morgan
disconnects her. This leads everyone to believe that Amber has kidnapped
Ridge and wants a ransom (WHAT?) and when Amber is finally able to call
Brooke again, Brooke is hostile and jumps to conclusions. It's only after
Ridge tells Brooke that Amber is telling the truth that she calms down,
but... nop. No apology to Amber that I could see. After all is solved and Morgan leaves with her
mother, Massimo arrives (with the carabinieri, nonetheless!) to arrest
Amber. Thankfully Ridge sets them straight. Now... wasn't Massimo going to
go to AMBER's hotel room? How did they know where to find Ridge's room and
Amber w/Ridge? Amber hadn't had the chance to tell them where they were,
and Massimo still thought Amber had kidnapped Ridge, so I know Brooke did
not tell him anything. Maybe I missed something? Hmmm... Anyway, while waiting around for Massimo (or was it
after Massimo arrived? I
can't remember) Ridge told Amber that there was a song that made him
remember a little bit. Unbelievably enough (like the fact that Amber is in
Venice!) Amber knew what song he was talking about, pulled out her iPod,
connected it with the room's stereo and there go 'Unforgettable' memories
flowing in Ridge's head, mostly of Brooke, now clear. All I can say is that at least Ridge is being nice to
Amber, and Massimo and Jackie are giving her a ride back to L.A., but...
where will she live? Will she live at the Marone mansion for a little
while until she gets back on her feet? And why is Amber returning to Los
Angeles anyway? I thought she wanted to stay in Venice to clear her
mind/thoughts? We'll see I guess.
Finally Ridge enters his home (do they ever lock
these doors?) and Brooke does not even hear him come in, etcetera. I am
happy to see the end of Brooke's tears. I am even happy to see Stephanie
somewhat being friendly to Brooke, at least for the time being.
Back in L.A. Nick becomes emotional with Bridget,
telling her that he felt like he
was Hope's dad and that letting go of that was painful, but that he looks
forward to having children with her and then they kiss passionately in the
rain and reaffirm their love. The next night Nick and Bridget share the evening at an
unrecognizable Chuck’s Bar which has been transformed just for the night
with lots of candles and atmosphere. At the end of the evening and after a
song or two, he proposes to her. It was all very
romantic.
Jackie had an interesting conversation with Massimo
on the plane ride to Italy... she stated that if Ridge had run off with
another woman, he was making a terrible mistake, and that home is where a
person belonged. She stated that an affair could awaken you and bring you
a lot of pleasure, but building a solid relationship with a person and
sticking together through thick and thin was what life was really about.
It was evident to Mass that Jackie was speaking from experience and meant
to apologize for her fling with Deacon. Does this mean that this pair is
heading back to happiness? Once can only assume...
This
week basically revolved around Morgan and her Ridge kidnapping, and while
I enjoy Sarah Buxton, this recycled storyline is cause of many yawns for
me unfortunately. Call me crazy, but I do hope that Morgan does get
pregnant and has Ridge's baby finally, and then a few years down the road
Ridge receives a visit from his son or daughter... it would be funny for
sure, especially regarding Brooke! Brooke was always in the middle of
Ridge and either Caroline or Taylor's relationships, so it's time for her
to get a real payback. What goes around comes around honey!
At any rate... the week
starts with us seeing a faux
Brooke tell Ridge off (basically) and Ridge coming to the realization that
his marriage is over. He then leaves a message on the 'real' Brooke's cell
phone, telling her things are over, and of course, Brooke is devastated.
Ugh. There is nothing more annoying than seeing Brooke crying for me, it's
been so used... over and over and then again. One thing that didn't make
sense to me is when Ridge had that 'fuzzy' memory of a blonde when
'Unforgettable' played. Why didn't he, or Morgan, just assumed or get him
to assume it was Brooke he was remembering? I must have missed something I
guess. I mean.. it makes sense, right? A fuzzy blonde... who else could it be? And why isn't
he remembering his children if he's going to remember anyone at all?
What about Taylor? His own mother? Why does it have
to be Brooke?
Meanwhile Nick and Massimo vow to track Ridge down and begin
tracing his credit cards and telephone calls. Once they find out that
Ridge is in Europe somewhere via the telephone satellites, Massimo makes
plans to leave immediately as he gets word of 'where' he is. Jackie boards
the plane in support while Massimo awaits to hear the destination. Will
this be the beginning of a renewed relationship for Massimo and Jackie?
Hmmm... I really liked Jackie with Massimo, so hopefully it's forgive and
forget and we can start everything over. Ridge and Brooke did and they had
much more water under that Bridge!!
At the Forrester's mansion, at Helen’s funeral
reception, Stephanie does what she can to help Gabriela, even offers to
pay for her College tuition, but she refuses not only the emotional help,
but also the financial help, and is very distant. Thomas tells Stephanie
that he can help her because he also lost his mother, so he talks to Gabriela and
she seems to open up to him. Their hug catches the eye of Caitlin...
hmmm... please Caitlin, give the girl a break, she just lost her mother...
Speaking of losing mothers, where is Sam nowadays?
Unbelievably enough, a remorseful Amber checks in a
hotel room in Venice, right across the hotel room where Morgan and Ridge
are staying... what a coincidence!! When she spots him, of course, she
can't believe her eyes, as we can't believe this storyline. I suppose it
makes sense that she returned to a city where she had once known happiness
to try and start over, but... still, what are the odds?
I
did hear somewhere that the fans and actors wanted the characters of Ridge
and Amber redeemed in some way, and this storyline is supposed to redeem
both of them in one big swoop, I just wish the writers could come up with
something more believable. Or... is it just me?
This
was an interesting week to say the least... it all starts with Hope's
recital, when Ridge does not show up and the perennial tears of our drama
queen: Brooke. For one... I do not understand why a school in Beverly
Hills cannot afford a recital at the school per se? I never heard of a
recital being at someone's house? Hmmm... At any rate, I do not understand
why this supposedly 'independent' woman (yes, I am talking about Brooke)
must have a man to lean on and cry on their shoulders at every turn. She
is extremely co-dependent and I have nothing but contempt and apathy for
this character at this point. However, how ironic that, even in her
hospital bed, after a deadly car accident, even Stephanie feels sorry for
Brooke! That is pretty funny if you ask me.
Speaking of the accident... how also ironic that the
first fireman on the scene is... none other than Hector (wow! An
incredible coincidence!) and the ER doctor is none other than... Dr. Mark!
He seems to be the only ER Dr. allowed to treat the Forresters. The one
thing I was hoping for, that the show neglected to show, is the
interaction between Dr. Mark & Bridget. Since they were sort of an
item at one point, and she really looked up to him, one would think they
would show something... an awkward 'hello' or anything of sort. I was
disappointed to say the least when nothing was shown at all. It was also
ironic that all of a sudden everybody is so upset over the death of
someone we never saw before (the maid Helen) but I was so touched at the
scene with Stephanie and Gabriela
when she had to tell her that her mother had died. I was even teary eyed!!
That never happens!! Stephanie is without a doubt the grand dame of the
show, and I was pleased to see Brooke and Bridget distraught over the
thought that she could be hurt, even Bridget gasped and stated that 'She's
our rock'!! I was impressed.
In Italy, Morgan keeps receiving messages from Brooke
on Ridge's phone... two things: for one, how is she able to access the
voice mail mailbox without a password? I really doubt Ridge has told her
since he barely remembers his name. As per the phone working in Europe, I
did find out there is such a thing as 'International Roaming' that we can
add to our cell phones as an extra service, however the calls are
extremely expensive to make, up to $2 per minute, however, people like the
Forresters can surely afford them and would have this service added to
their phones since they supposedly travel abroad often enough. At any
rate, once Morgan hears of Stephanie's accident, she sends an email to
Stephanie pretending to be Ridge (a rather long email... written with the
cell phone!! It must have taken forever for her to write!) telling her
that he wishes he could be there for her, but that he needs more time away
from Brooke. Later Morgan
explains to Ridge that she has called Brooke and that Brooke is on her way
to see him. Someone who looks like Brooke arrives at the door,
but we all know there is no way that can really be Brooke, am I right or
am I right? We'll find out soon enough.
Here's what is strange in my
view... supposedly Ridge drove to the restaurant but no one has reported a
car that's been parked there for days? Or did Morgan cover the tracks and
left the car at the airport parking lot? Why don't the Forresters at least
'try' to find out where he is? I know he's a grown man, but he's acting
irrationally and strangely, even for Ridge, you would think someone aside
Caitlin would be suspicious?
I
know I haven't mentioned Bridget and Nick, yes, they are happy, blah blah.
It's kind of boring to me. What I was thinking about today is how strange
they are the people that they are. Nick, for example, was raised by
Jackie, a well refined, well mannered, classy lady; heck, she even has a
British accent. So, how come Nick is such a simplistic, rogue man? How on
earth did Nick not learn anything all those years being raised by a woman
like Jackie? The same thing can be said about Bridget... in reverse.
Bridget's mother has been with every man in a few mile radius, has been
married more times than I care to remember, she's not worldly and has
never been classy, so where on earth did Bridget learn to be so classy, so
worldly, so 'wanting to wait for marriage' when her example was nothing of
sort?
Only
three days worth of shows... at 20 minutes each is barely an hour... yet,
I have so much to say!!
First we have to hear and see how Bridget is all
ga-ga over Nick, even dancing around... yawn. Since both her and Nick now
have turned into a couple with a 'better than thou' attitude, I like them
less and less. What I simply couldn't digest is how they immediately
assumed Amber had something to do with Ridge's disappearance and treated
her like a chew toy when she was kind enough to come over and listen to
what they had to say. Amber defended herself, a hard thing to do when you
have two people shoveling manure down your throat, but it was Nick's final
threat in Amber's ear that didn't sit well with me. I didn't like this new
Nick at all. Amber is no angel, but nobody should be treated like that,
especially without evidence. Asking is one thing, what they did is pure
evil, they should be looking at themselves in the mirror before they start
spewing venom so easily.
While at dinner at the Café Russe, Stephanie and Eric
learn from the bartender that Ridge was
apparently drinking before he arrived. For the life of me I don't
understand why the bartender didn't tell them about him falling from the
barstool or about the 'woman' that he left with. Aren't these important
details? This happened at the bar, so he must have seen it, right? It's
all very strange. And while I am pondering about glossing over details,
how is it that Ridge was conveniently carrying his passport with him? Who
carries their passport with them at all times unless they live near the
border or they might travel at a moment's notice? I think what was also
bizarre is how Brooke was able to call Ridge on his cell phone in Venice?
How did this happen? I've been to Italy twice since I got my cell phone,
and both times (with two different carriers) the phone had no service in
Italy. Is there even such a plan that lets you use your cell phone outside
of the U.S.? Even so, when Brooke gets the bill, she should be able to see
that the call was just a 'tad more expensive then usual, right? And if
she's really worried about his whereabouts in the future, isn't there a
way to find out where was the nearest antenna the phone transmitted from
or something like that? I think I saw it on CSI or America's Most Wanted
or something.
Speaking of Ridge... when
Morgan was in town a few years ago, when she kidnapped one of the twins
and got pregnant etc., I didn't really like her, I was rooting for Taylor
to come up on top etc. Now though, seeing how nice Morgan seems, at least
apparently, I am almost rooting for her to take Ridge away from Brooke! I
know it won't happen, but at least Morgan and the actress that plays
Morgan are a very pleasant change from Brooke's blah hairdo and constant
tears... ugh. At any rate... I do like the actress
that plays the role of Morgan's mother, so this is going to be a very
interesting story line.
The laugh of the week came when Sally suggests to
Darla that they hire Morgan DeWitt to replace Amber! What a laugh. And...
something else to ponder... how is it that Sally knows that Morgan was
released but the Forresters seem to be none the wiser?
Hmmm...
While Stephanie advises
Brooke to put the incident behind her and take Ridge back, Nick is over at
the Forrester's mansion trying to literally 'knock' some sense into Ridge.
While I understand Nick's rage, one comment of his left me gasping... he
stated that Ridge didn't deserve a woman like Brooke. WHAAT?? Nobody
'deserves' Brooke, she has betrayed her own daughter AND mother, and has
slept with the entire cast for egotistical reasons. Brooke would deserve
to be and die alone. However, since Ridge is now an egotistical self
centered jerk, Brooke is exactly what he deserves. But... I digress...
After the umpteenth insult (Ridge loves calling his brother Popeye and the
like) Nick punches Ridge hard enough to knock him over, but not so bad
that Nick thinks there is anything wrong with him.. ya know... no blood or
anything of sort. Later, a dazed and confused Ridge sits at the bar at
Café Russe while a friend from the past was 'waiting for him' to show up,
good old Morgan! She seems nice enough, asking for forgiveness, Ridge
seems out of it but knows who she is. After he faints and falls off the
barstool, hitting his head again, Ridge has no idea who 'Brooke' is when
Morgan tells him she called, and thinks Morgan is his wife... and Morgan
lets him assume and starts making plans to leave the country. Hmmm... this
is going to be interesting!! While I never liked Morgan in the past, I
welcome seeing a more 'soft' side of Ridge, away from his family and
Brooke and the drama... who knows, we
might even see a glimpse of the the Ridge that Taylor fell in love with...
The only thing I am upset over is that we'll see some waterworks from
Brooke once again... GAG!! Who will be the man she will seek solace with?
Anyone up for any bets?
Meanwhile Thorne, who just invested his inheritance
into Spectra and his future lies in this new company of his, fires Amber,
one of only a handful of designers he has. While I understand his rage, it
just does not sound like a good business decision to me!! But... Thorne
simply will not condone her behavior, so to hell with his financial
future! It seems as if everyone has a beef with Amber, which is the reason
why I thought it was so stupid of her to admit of being the mastermind
behind the mineshaft incident. Not only she is fired from her job, Thomas
hates her and wants nothing to do with her, and even Bridget just had to
have some choice words for her. When are the writers going to give this
girl a break I wonder? I heard there is redeeming soon, but it can't be
soon enough in my book. This might be the perfect chance for her to
go find little D, wherever he is, and to brush up on her mothering skills
again.
In
the meantime Nick wants to take Bridget to a 'spur of the moment' trip
somewhere, gives her a present, feeds her buffalo wings etcetera, but
Bridget is just not up to par knowing her mother's marriage may be on the
skids. Funny, I never saw Brooke putting her life on hold for her
daughter, so where did Bridget learn this from? Hmmm...
Stephanie on the other hand has serious problems with
Jackie sneaking herself into Massimo's life once again. For the life of me
I have no idea why Massimo would want Jackie back after all she's done,
the betrayals and the lies, but I suppose it's his choice to make. Maybe
Stephanie can convince him she's not worthed. I find it interesting that
the writers totally ruined this character, at least for me. I liked Jackie
a lot, she is beautiful and looks like my mom, but all of this BS with
lying about RJ's paternity and the affair with Deacon leave me wondering
how far the writers need to go to redeem her. She, along with Amber, is
another character that needs redeeming, FAST!
This
was just a weird week all around. Some characters acted 'way' out of
character, while others need a swift kick in the pants!! While I was happy to see Linda Gray back as Sue
Ellen... err... Priscilla (sorry, Dallas was one of my favorite shows of
all time!) I thought that Hector's reaction and treatment of Sam in front
of her mother was extremely harsh. I understand that he does not like
Priscilla at all, but Sam had just finished telling him how important it
was to have the cake from the bakery in France where her father used to
take her as a child when he completely ruins the cake and even smears
Priscilla's face in it? That was just too much. Sam was right to be upset,
as it seems that, as of late it's Hector's Way or the Highway. Blah. Was
that it as far as Priscilla's visit though? I want MORE!! WHAAAA!!
Meanwhile an obnoxious Ridge (so... what's new?) shows Brooke
the photo of him kissing Bridget in the mineshaft and Brooke is shocked.
Ridge tries to explain to Brooke that they were victims of Amber’s plot,
blah blah, but Brooke does not buy it. She does not buy it even when
Bridget explains to her that she was unconscious when he gave her that
little "kiss before dying". All Brooke is managing to think is how she is
the victim in all of this, they are trying to 'pay her back' for all her
misdeeds etcetera etcetera. Okay... so I will be the first to admit that Ridge was wrong
in kissing Bridget on the lips and could have kissed her on the nose, the
forehead, just cuddle up or whatever, and that Ridge needs desperately to
be brought down a peg, HOWEVER, Brooke has gigantic guts to be upset and
throw Ridge out over a little peck on the lips on her comatose daughter
after she:
1. Slept with
Nick a mere 24 hours after she 'thought' Ridge had died. Ridge forgave her
for that and went after her, isn't that a heck of a lot worse than Ridge's
little kiss before dying over an unconscious Bridget?
2. Slept numerous times and
had a CHILD for crying out loud with Bridget's husband!! Bridget forgave
her mother for that and now has to take the heat from her mother over a
kiss she wasn't even conscious to remember?
Give me a break!!! She received forgiveness for all
of that and SHE of all people has trouble forgiving? Pulease! And what
does typical Brooke does the moment she needs to talk to someone about
this? Who does she call? Hector? A very attractive man she barely knows?
Why isn't she calling her sister or one of her family members instead of
sitting there all weepy and vulnerable with yet another man? AARGHH.
Brooke... get a grip. What I am also not too happy about is the fact that
Brooke basically threw Ridge out of his OWN house!! That's the house
that he lived in with Taylor and raised his kids in,
so Brooke should be the one leaving to go back to HER
house.
Over at Spectra, when Sally finds out about the
photo, upset because she believes that Amber and Bucky will be sent to
prison for this, gets a copy of the photo and visits Stephanie and tries
to slyly threaten her to help with keeping the photo of Ridge and Bridget
secret because if this news got out to the press, it would harm both
Forrester Creations and Spectra Couture. Both Stephanie and Eric are
outraged that this photo had the opportunity of even being taken and tell
Ridge to stay away from Bridget. Poor Eric... it seems as of nowadays he's
always the last to find out about everything going on!!
An upset Bridget fills Nick in on Amber’s involvement in the
mineshaft incident at Big Bear and Nick is furious at both Amber and Ridge
about the kiss, but more so at Ridge, since he goes to see him and tells
him that he will have to deal with him from now on if anyone is hurt by
his misdeeds.
I
was sooooo disappointed in Amber this week. Here she has the golden
opportunity to do some real damage in her revenge against Ridge, instead
she does not listen to reason (aka Clarke) and basically incriminates
herself!! She must have known that if Ridge found out that she was
responsible for trapping him and Bridget in the shaft that he would call
the police, doesn't she? Is she really this dense? Pity too... I was
really starting to like her and now... she ruined everything all by
herself. There were so many things she could have done with this picture,
she could have anonymously sent it to Ridge, she could have mailed it to
the tabloids, but I guess none of these actions were 'black mail'. In her
mind she thought she could black mail Ridge into giving her the green
light to see Thomas with the aide of this picture, but unfortunately for
her, Ridge almighty thinks that Brooke will forgive all. I do believe he
does have something coming to him. Amber is right: yes, Bridget was dying
and he was just kissing her good-bye, but... why on the lips for crying
out loud? Hmmm... I do hope the writers give Amber a break, and soon! She
is far overdue for one!
In the meantime... Bridget, who fully recuperated
from the ordeal, finds out that Massimo was behind the whole scheme of
turning Deacon into a alcoholic once again and tries to tell Deacon,
but... too late. By the time she gets to his house he already left for
rehab, leaving everything, including his cell phone, behind. What I wonder
now is this... what happens to poor Little Eric?
I was all for Macy and
Deacon getting custody of him, since Rick, Amber, Brooke, and Ridge
treated them like crap. Now I wish they would've let him stay where he
was. This little boy went from being raised by two loving parents to a
trailer park and being raised by his grandparents Joe, Tilly, and maybe
even Tawny. He now has a father who's a low life alcoholic and who has
once again abandoned him. Last, the poor little boy has already
experienced the deaths of 2 mothers in his life, Becky and Macy. Why can't
Amber step up to the plate and come back and get custody once again? I bet
she would win!! Besides... with all her recent troubles, Amber needs her
son back anyway. Maybe if she won back custody she could start backing off
her obsession with being a Forrester, and she could focus more on being a
mother. Food for thought anyway...
Back on the Shady Marlin, Nick and Bridget share a
romantic dinner and evening. Bridget seems to be
really taken by the sailor. Afterwards Stephanie comes over to talk to
Nick about Bridget and once she's assured that Nick does not harbor
romantic feelings for Brooke anymore, Stephanie gives her blessing for
Bridget and Nick’s relationship to continue forward. Brooke however, has
said she doesn't want Bridget to be with anyone she herself had been
involved with. Since Brooke has slept with half the men in the State of
California, that means Bridget would need to move...maybe even abroad!!
And Brooke has some nerve asking her daughter to leave Nick alone anyway,
when she herself has slept (and had a child!) with Bridget's husband!
Brooke is the real tramp!! Bridget forgave her way too easily. Just look
at the past two weeks. Twice Brooke played little sex kitten to Ridge...
once when she 'surprised' a sleeping Stephanie (thinking it was Ridge) in
a little bitty nurse outfit in his Big Bear's Hospital room (where did she
get this outfit at such a short notice is a mystery to me!) and then this
week she goes to open the door when the doorbell rings in a little teddy
thinking it was Ridge (and it was Stephanie again!). Hello Brooke? Why
would Ridge ring the doorbell of his own house?? If you ask me, there are
just too many sex scenes between Brooke and Ridge as is, but perhaps KKL
is the only actress in the show willing to show some skin? Who
knows...
There was no commentary
last week because I took a weekend cruise with my husband! Hope I was
missed! These past two weeks, I am sorry to say,
bored me to tears. While I am happy to see Amber scheming against Ridge,
it better not come back and bite her in the 'behind' so to speak. She
should send that photo to the newspapers anonymously and not show it as to
incriminate herself. Something tells me we'll see her mascara running
again though... ugh. Since the spoilers say nothing about a Thomas/Amber
reunion, sadly, I think there will be no reconciliation. Pity, too. Those
scenes in the cave with Ridge & Bridget were pretty blah... I mean...
we know full well nobody is going to die, they keep talking about dying,
someone 'almost' dies'.... but, no, and we know they are going to be okay
in the end, so there was no real drama there. How in the world didn't they
notice the camera down there anyway? Common...
For the life of me though, I cannot understand why
Brooke is so dead against Nick having a relationship with Bridget. What
gives? I don't see the problem other than perhaps their age difference. I
think they are cute together and Nick is a good guy. Who cares if she's
Brooke's daughter? Why is Brooke meddling in her daughter's life after she
had a child with her husband while Bridget was still married to him? And
who is Brooke to talk trash about Amber anyway, telling her
that all she wants is to get back into the 'Forrester' family... hello
Brooke? Aren't you talking about yourself missy? Brooke is full of double
standards if you ask me. Not only she is vilifying Stephanie for meddling
into her children's lives when she herself is doing the SAME thing, but
then she can't see how similar her and Amber are either. Even though she
has done similar things as Amber, for some reason, while Brooke doing
those things are completely acceptable and required to be forgiven, when
Amber does them... well... she is an evil b****! Yes, double standards
ladies and gentlemen, Brooke and Ridge are full of them.
One weird thing I noticed though is how little time
Brooke spent in Big Bear with the family. I thought it was supposed to be
at least a full weekend but she drove up in the evening after the fashion
show and drove back the next afternoon? Big Bear is a good 2.5 hour drive
from LA, am I the only one that finds this weird? And... something else
that left me baffled. Why did Ridge go DOWN in the shaft to get Bridget
out? What the heck was the plan? Are we supposed to believe that Bridget
was going to climb onto Ridge back and he was going to climb up the rope
with her hanging on to him? Hmmm... does not make
much sense to me, but it worked out okay for Amber's plan I guess. But...
wait! I am not done. Here's another weird thing. So Ridge had a cell phone
with him, but... no signal! Wait a minute... Amber received a phone call
from Thomas at the top of the shaft the previous evening, so there is a
signal. Not only that, Nick called Brooke to tell her Ridge and Bridget
had been found right on top of the shaft. Geez... what a bunch of
faux-pas!!
In the
meantime, Deacon makes a scene at the restaurant and later decides he's
not good enough for Jackie. Nick is also trying to reunite his folks so he
talks to both of them to get them both to come to their senses. Jackie
however is very loyal to Deacon and wants to be supportive of him. Is it
just me or this storyline is now getting boring as well? It seems as if
it's been dragged out forever. But I guess it's still more entertaining
than seeing Brooke and Ridge having sex, although I must admit the scene
where Brooke wanted to seduce Ridge dressed as a Nurse and instead
Stephanie was in the bed was pretty funny. Why do these two have so
many sex scenes anyway? How about a nice steamy scene between Thorne and
Darla instead? Or Sam & Hector!? Or anyone with Nick? I'd go for
that!
It
was devastating to Amber this week to hear that Thomas thought she was out
to brake up his family and basically "dumped" her just because of that,
without really hearing her explanations, knowing full well how much she
loved him. What was even more disturbing, however is how, within 24 hours,
he was at the fashion show smooching Caitlin! That was just sick. Later on
in the week we did see a more normal part of him, admitting that he still
loved and missed Amber and that he couldn't just turn the switch off so
easily, still, I was very disappointed in him in the way he handled
things. No wonder Amber is out for blood!! Who can blame her? Not me,
that's for sure. However, I do give Thomas credit for seeing things like
Brooke and Ridge cannot when he said:'"You don't stop loving someone
because they disappoint you. You should know that better than anyone."
Well said Thomas!! I do hope that Amber succeeds in bringing Ridge down a
peg because he's impossible to like nowadays with his 'my way or the
highway' attitude, being completely 100% forgiving of his wife's many
escapades, yet poor Amber who hasn't done even a small percentage damage
to the family that Brooke has, gets the brunt of Ridge's rage. It's unfair
and unthinkable. I hate what
Ridge did to her, gloating and calling her all sorts of names...
While I had mixed feelings about her being with
Thomas, there is no way I condone Ridge's high and mighty attitude! That
is why I was so thrilled to see Amber renting a cabin in Big Bear that overlooks the
Forrester's Big Bear Cabin, giving her the perfect position to spy on the
Forrester family. I don't know what she has in mind, but I bet is good!!
Can't wait to see what happens next!! And... what a hoot to see Clarke
involved in this storyline!!
In the meantime, while I was upset for Eric that he
lost the Fashion Show to Spectra, hence his son in a way, at the same time
I was pleased at the turn of events. Thorne is really his own man at
Spectra, he's a different person that he used to be, more secure of
himself, full of pride and determination, and I've loved seeing him take
center stage the past several months. If Eric would have won the show and
his son back, Thorne would have had to sit in the backburner once again,
submitting himself to Ridge's constant insults and tyrant ways.
Blah. Spectra winning the show gives us more interesting storylines for
sure.
I must say, I am very
pleased that the show, now that is no longer the 'Brooke Logan love life'
show is now a heck of a lot more about Fashion! It sure makes it fun to
watch.
Meanwhile Bridget invites Nick to spend a few days up
at Big Bear with her family. Of course everyone, excluding Brooke perhaps,
thinks that there is something going on between the two, and both of them
keep denying it, but when Brooke saw a passionate kiss between the two
near the fireplace, it was now obvious that both Bridget and Nick were
lying to everyone and maybe even to themselves about their
relationship. Aside this, I think the
character of Nick has been quite interesting this week, telling Bridget
that Amber should not have had the 'opportunity' to take that
incriminating picture, and he holds his ground with Ridge, which is an
amazing feat.
This
week Thorne took into consideration with Darla Sally's offer of giving him
half the profit if he buys 50% of the company. While there are some fans
out there (Brooke fans for sure) who think Darla is a mouse and is not
capable of making her 'own' decisions and 'must' agree with Thorne no
matter what, I say... boo hoo. Thorne and Darla agree with one another
because they are a good match! Let's not invent things to complain about
the characters just to make Brooke look better, shall we? But.. I
digress... my hatred for Brooke's fans keep resurfacing... Thorne and
Darla obviously talk it through and decide that, in order of coming up
with 50 million $ he must sell his shares of FC. Of course this was not an
easy task to accomplish... convince his parents to buy him out basically,
and in the end he decides to have yet another 'match' and whoever the
winner of that fashion show is... gets Thorne. While it would be nice for Eric and Stephanie and the
show in general to have Thorne back with his family, at the same time... I
am torn (pun intended!). He seems so happy and gratified running Spectra
into the limelight, will he be just as happy and accomplished back at FC?
Will Ridge, most of all, be able to keep his trap shut and grant Darla and
his brother some respect?
Meanwhile at Jackie M,
Deacon is finally giving in to his urges and takes a sip, then a drink, of
Vodka. Massimo's evil plan is beginning to unravel and he's enjoying a
toast with the sneaky assistant. Will Jackie put up with it? Her
love for him will be tested. But what exactly does Massimo want out of
this? Massimo is too complicated of a man to just want revenge just for
the sake of it, he wants something... is that Jackie? Or what? We shall
see...
I
must admit the character I hated most this week was Bridget. I used to
LOVE Bridget when she was played by the great Jennifer Finnigan, and I
thought I could warm up to the new Bridget, while I have nothing against
the actress, her character is taking some turns I do not like in the
least. First she lashes out at Stephanie, denying that there is anything
going on with Nick and that there never will be, and that she would never
fall for a man who was involved with her mother again (yeah... right!! As
usual, Stephanie is right, get used to it honey!) then she betrays Amber
by bad mouthing her to Thomas. Who in the world does she think she is? She
is certainly not miss perfect, and if she didn't want people to know nor
judge her about her 'crush' on Ridge, she should have kept her pretty
little mouth shut. Period! I am now beginning to think Nick is way too
good for her... hmmm...
As I
predicted, the one suffering the brunt of it all is Amber. She may even
lose Thomas over it, and that is just sad. How can immensely flawed people
such as Brooke and Ridge, who got second, third and fourth chances, got
forgiven for every sin in the book, not even remotely want to give Amber a
second chance or forgive her for anything at all? It's sad and pathetic,
but so are Brooke and Ridge. Ugh. How many times have these two people acted on their
overactive hormones and hurt other people in the process? Why is it OK for
them but not for anyone else? Maybe Amber did the wrong thing of showing
Brooke the picture, but you saw Brooke's initial reaction. Does she trust
Ridge 100%?? I don't think so. While I haven't liked Amber in the past
much, I love her now, and I champion her cause and hope that she grinds
Ridge into the dirt beneath her shoes. That pompous a** needs to be
brought down a peg or two!!
Finally, Mr. Serge's appearance was a great one, and
made me wonder why there aren't more 'gay' characters on the show. No
no... not because it would be politically correct... but because, well,
this is fashion! Versace was gay, and so do half of the men in Fashion!
Have you guys seen Carson on the Queer Eye show! He rocks. Common writers!
Show us more diversity!
Who
else thought it was poetic justice that Amber was able to snap that
compromising photograph that looks nothing like Bridget and Ridge claim it
was? Innocent? I don't think so. That look... the way he was holding her,
the way they looked at each other... they may say there is nothing going
on, but it's highly likely they don't even realize it. And who is
Brooke anyway, to demand for the two of them to not act inappropriately
when she herself has acted a lot
MORE “inappropriately” with others, especially with Bridget’s own husband!
I had to laugh at the irony. Brooke and her crocodile tears deserve
everything that is coming to her, even if there truly is nothing going on
and all she get is the feeling of insecurity and betrayal. Brooke must get
some back pay for all she put her daughter and Taylor through. Besides...
if Bridget can forgive Brooke for sleeping and having a child with her
husband, and if Ridge can forgive her for sleeping with his brother a mere
24 hours after he was presumed dead, whatever is going on, she can
certainly forgive. And... speaking of irony... how
is it that Ridge treats his mother like garbage for 'meddling' in his
affairs, while he sees no problem with dictating Thomas' love life?
Hmmm... Telling Amber that his relationship with
Thomas is 'over' was way out of line. No wonder Amber is upset. I would be
as well.
The sad part out of all of this is that I feel that
Amber may very well 'pay' for it all. Ridge is caught in a compromising
position, Amber catches it, and all of a sudden, SHE is the bad guy. Ugh.
Clearly, she took the picture out of anger, she even stated, as she was
snapping, that Ridge was right... there was only place for one of them two
in the family. Now of course she wants to make everyone believe that she
is exposing Ridge to protect the family, because Ridge is “spinning
out of control” and “on a downward spiral” and must be stopped, but, even
though her intention may have changed since she snapped the photos, if
there is someone you cannot pull one over, that is Stephanie! I can't help
but feeling sorry for Amber, however. I may have not liked her much over
the years, but I do believe people change, and she has. I think the only
mistake that she has made into all of this is to simply get in the middle
of it. She should have sent the photo - one to Brooke and one to Ridge -
anonymously, and wait for the ___ to hit the fan. Hmmm... that would
have been sweet!!!
Meanwhile, Bridget, wanting to repay Nick for trying
to set her up with that gorgeous Doctor (this gal does have some sense of
humor!!), sets him up on a joke blind date with an orangutan named Sasha!
While the joke was supposed to be on Nick, he indeed took it in stride,
made light of the situation and played along. We were treated to a montage of love scenes between
Nick and Sasha as they played that song that goes... “Loving you is easy
‘cause you’re beautiful.” It was just too funny. If you ask me, Bridget
and Nick make a cute couple. Sure... there is that age difference thing,
but with Nick's attitude toward life and his sense of humor, I
honestly think he would be a good match for Bridget. Nick deserves to be happy after all he went through
with Brooke last year, and Bridget needs to get over Ridge
PRONTO!!
Early in the week we got a surprise... a Forrester's
fashion show? I honestly didn't see that coming... it wasn't in the previews and for a good
reason, the fashions sported at this event were... well... blah. But...
what do you expect when you have an interior designer (Samantha) and a
teenager (Caitlin) making the designs? Are we supposed to believe that
Eric, the creator of stunning designs, let the 'girls' do it all? And how
come such a famous design house like Forrester Creations, who is
supposedly known worldwide, even has their own jet, can't afford to hire
competent designers and need to rely on Samantha and Caitlin for a new
collection? It makes no sense... but, I digress. Not surprisingly, the
collection didn't do as great as it could have, and Sally coerced Darla to
go to the fashion show in disguise. It made for some funny moments. After
Ridge has a talk to Thorne basically begging him to come back, Thorne
tells Sally he wants half of the Spectra profits. Will she do it? I
imagine that if the choice is either lose Thorne or give him half the
profits, Sally might very well do it... who knows...
Meanwhile Stephanie and Nick are worried about
Bridget’s plan to stay with Ridge and Brooke in their house. During
Brooke's visit to Stephanie to tell her how 'wrong' she is (right!),
Stephanie tells her not to ignore what is going on, but Brooke, with her
head nicely planted in the sand, tells her her marriage is too solid to
worry. Yet, she did warn Ridge to not let it go far with
Bridge, didn't she? Hmmm... I believe Brooke's speech to Stephanie was not
for Stephanie's sake but more for Brooke's. After hearing that Stephanie
is worried about Bridget living under the same roof with Ridge, Ridge goes
over to see her mother to set her straight. If there is anyone that can
hold her own, however, it is indeed Stephanie. She tells Ridge to distance
himself from Bridget, but he does not seem concerned at all, and assures
his mother that he would not risk his family to be with Bridget.
Funny how both Brooke and Ridge and even Eric like to just dismiss
everything, every concern Stephanie has for the family, and my gut tells
me it's going to come back and bite them in their behind.
Bridget meantime, is having
breakfast with her family when she gets a call for Nick to go see him at
Chuck's. Now... Either Brooke and Ridge eat breakfast very late or Nick
eats lunch very early. That's two times now where Bridget has gone to see
Nick at his hangout and it's been his lunch time but she just left
Brooke's house where breakfast was being served. But... I digress (once
again!) Bridget goes to Chuck’s
Bar to meet Nick but little does she know that Nick has a plan to set
her up with a handsome man named Johnny. For reasons
beyond my comprehension, Bridget refuses to go out with him (she's not
ready I guess?) so she spends literally the entire day with Nick, chatting
with him on his boat. Nick's charm and humor seem to uplift Bridget
as they find out they have some things in common. She's trying to get over
Ridge and he's trying to get over Brooke.
While all of this is going on, we have Amber feeling
insecure, but not for Thomas' love for her, but for Ridge treating her
like yesterday's garbage, while he's not the saint he claims to be. After
she finds out that there may be something going on between Ridge and
Bridget he goes over to talk to Ridge to try to give her a break, but
Ridge, as hard-headed as usual, tells her that not only he's not changing
his mind about her, but that there is only room for one of them in the
family, and that her relationship with Thomas is over. Upset because she
just got thrown out, Amber watches from the window as Ridge hugs Bridget
and snaps a photo with her phone. Hmm... I smell trouble ahead for
Ridge!!
After a few days of absence, Stephanie came back with
a vengeance on Monday's show, warning Brooke that she
feared Bridget might still have feelings for Ridge and to keep an eye out
and Ridge away from her daughter. As usual, Brooke, no matter how right
Stephanie is about things, refused to listen to her (and later did not
call her to apologize either when she found out she was RIGHT!!) but what
do you expect from this self-righteous character? She does not want to be
told anything, and, of course, not from Stephanie. I wonder how long this
feud is going to go on. How long can Brooke sit there and believe she is
the new matriarch while she can't even listen to reason? Well, we're
talking Brooke here.. it could last forever. Her ego is indeed that big.
She will say and do anything for her to be right no matter how wrong she
is.
In the meantime,
Bridget seeks out Nick and has a heart to heart with him, apologizing for
the night before. When Nick tells her that she is just like her mother,
and has 'Forrester' up on a pedestal, she has a revelation. She's not
really in 'love' with him, she just misses that 'feeling' of being part of
a family. God knows, this girl never had a family per se, her mother
always chasing the next guy, no wonder she felt good being part of a real
family for once. Later, Brooke asks Bridget
why she didn’t come to her with all her problems... she is kidding, right?
She is more concerned about Bridget not treating her like a mother after
all she's done to betray her own daughter rather than
being concerned about what is actually going on? Selfish Brooke never
ceases to exist. Later Brooke made Ridge promise there would be no hanky
panky between him and her daughter... further showing how oblivious she is
about the whole situation... BARF!! Hello Brooke, Earth here. Bridget does
not want Ridge per se, she wants that family 'feeling' she never had
thanks to you! Over and out.
Over at Forrester Creations, Caitlin and Thomas practice for the dance contest.
Okay... this must be some real interesting dancing contest, no tango or
regular dance, this is fancy footwork stuff... and... isn't that a bit odd
that they practice at work and not at home or something? But... I
digress... when Amber sees them she gets jealous but tells Caitlin that
it’s a great idea for Thomas to go to the dance with her as 'friends'. I
guess she does not want to come across too possessive or neurotic nor
insecure. After Amber leaves, Caitlin mentions to Thomas that it is
obvious Amber doesn’t want them to go to the dance together but Thomas
assures her everything is fine. As Thomas and Caitlin start to practice
their dance routine, a crushed Amber watches unseen at the door. One can't
help but feel sorry for her. Her love life has never been particularly
easy. Surely at times it was her own fault, but she's a woman now and has
learned from her mistakes.
Likely in large part due to the new Spectra logo,
which has the name 'Thorne Forrester' twice as large as the actual logo,
Spectra’s sales numbers have risen and Forrester’s have dropped. Eric
congratulates Thorne on his success after they agreed to scale the name
down on the logo. Amazingly enough, later in the week, Ridge asks Thorne
to come back to Forrester. If it will happen or not, it's anyone's guess,
but I bet Sally will not let his golden boy away from her that easily.
That much is certain. What I wonder is... will Ridge actually treat Thorne
like family and with some respect if or when he goes back to Forrester
Creations, or will he keep dishing out insults to him and his wife
to feed his own ego? It's a wait and see kinda thing.
Meanwhile, over at Jackie M, Deacon is chasing his
own demons... Does anyone else thinks this is weird? Even if Deacon
can't taste nor smell the alcohol that's been "added" to his drinks, don't
you think he'd be able to feel the affect other than just having cravings
for it? Wouldn't he know how it feels like to have a drink or two? That
should make him wonder if someone's messing with him. How would refined
alcohol be any different from "regular" alcohol? And what about the fact
that he mysteriously receives a Vodka bottle with his lunch/dinner?
Instead of being inquisitive he takes it out and sniffs it? He must be
thinking someone is playing with him by now... either that or he's just
blind. I thought Deacon was a lot smarter than that...
This entire week revolved around the Jackie M party
that Deacon threw in honor of his lady love. I must admit these two,
however icky they looked to me earlier on, are growing on me. I
still think they should be with other people, but they don't look so icky
to me anymore, go figure. Jackie is indeed a different woman, more full of
life and happier with Deacon than I've ever seen her with Massimo, so at
this point I am not sure what I would like to happen to then and will
enjoy whatever the turnout. But is Massimo sinking too low in his attempt
in making Deacon fall off the wagon? The jury is still out on this one for
me. While I do think that it is low for Massimo to do this to him, at the
same time Deacon has had a bad streak which I am not sure he ever fully
paid for. If Massimo is successful, I think he'll play plenty this time
around. I do like this new character, Heather, who is aiding Massimo in
his revenge by mixing Deacon's drinks with this distilled alcohol, but I
wonder if Massimo's motives are simply to bring Deacon down or to also
hurt Jackie for betraying him in the process? Or does he want to get
Deacon out of the way so he can get Jackie back? Hmmm... it will be
interesting to see this played out. When Deacon
got back to his house with Jackie he admitted to her that he was fighting
hard not to have a drink. How it has been a constant battle for him,
but tonight had been over the top. Deacon couldn’t understand why he was
so tempted. Jackie was concerned, but told Deacon that it didn’t
matter. She loved every part of him and anything he was fighting they
would fight together. Awwww.... sweet!
Meanwhile Bridget, who
was catching some rays in a swimsuit (ok... it is warm in the winter time
in LA but not THAT warm!!!) decided to stay home and not go to the party,
until Nick came around and forced her to go. In my opinion, Ms. Confused
should have stayed at home because she spent the entire party outside, by
herself, crying. Over what? Over Ridge. Ugh. Poor Nick is always consoling
women that are in love with Ridge. Can you imagine what might go through
his mind? You could tell the disgust in his face when Bridget spotted
Ridge and Ridge told her that he would help her get through this, blah
blah, showing a sensitive side of him that we never, ever see, hence,
comes off just weird. Just like with Deacon, I don't think Brooke
ever really paid for any of her sins and Bridget let her off the hook for
the Deacon thing way too easily. I'm not surprised that she is still
having emotional problems from that whole ordeal. I am having fun watching
Brooke feel insecure though. I think its justice for Brooke to feel what
Taylor felt all those years having her always sniffing around waiting for
any little problems in her marriage to exploit. (I know my hatred for
Brooke's character is always surfacing!!). My highlight for the entire
week was seeing and hearing Jack Wagner (Nick) serenade Bridget with
"Dancin' In The Moonlight". I loved it! When is this CD coming
out???
Over at the party, the
love triangle of Amber/Thomas/Caitlin is in full motion. Amber is crushed
when she overhears Thomas saying to Caitlin he has no intention of having
kids any time soon. Not that she didn't know or realize this before (after
all, Stephanie has told her this countless time... hasn't she?) so she
decides to make Caitlin a little jealous by sitting on his lap and giving
him a kiss in front of her. Ridge notices Caitlin’s uneasiness toward
Thomas and Amber’s public displays of affection and tries to convince her
to admit her feelings for Thomas. Caitlin is reluctant because she claims
she is respectful of their relationship, but Ridge won't hear of it. He
decides to distract Amber by dancing with her so Caitlin and Thomas can
talk out on the patio. Reluctantly, Caitlin confesses her feelings to
Thomas, saying that her choosing Rick over him was a mistake. To say
Thomas is a bit stunned is the understatement of the year. I wonder if his
feelings over Caitlin are the same as Amber's feeling toward Rick. Hmmm...
did that make sense? I hope so! I have to say though... while at first I
liked the budding romance between Thomas & Caitlin, I think he would
have to be an idiot to choose Caitlin over Amber, considering the girl
treated him like crap and didn't even have the decency to break up with
him before dating his step-brother and would likely break his heart again
when someone else better comes along. If these two are meant to be
together, I believe it's going to be far, far off into the future, as they
both need to grow up.
